The 2024 Go For Gold Track Camp will be held July 30th-Aug. 3rd (Tuesday-Saturday) at Parkland High School

Eligibility

All athletes ages 5-13

Camp Schedule

Tuesday– Friday (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

• Instruction and practice of individual events

• Use of cafeteria and indoor athletic facilities during lunch and free time break

Saturday (9:00 a.m. – noon)

• Track Meet (Rain date for meet if needed will be Sunday, August 4th, 9:00 a.m - noon) 

• Award ceremony and medal presentations 

• Post meet celebration

*Following lunch between the morning and afternoon instructional blocks, campers will have free time to play organized activities such as battleball, kickball, basketball, floor hockey among others to be organized by camp staff in Parkland's two gymnasiums. 

Facilities

• 8 lane 400 meter all weather track

• 4 horizontal jumping pits

• 2 shot and 2 discus circles

• Olympic high jump pit

• Cross country course

• 2 full size gymnasiums

• Full wrestling room

• Fitness and weight facility

What to Bring

Each camper should bring his or her own lunch, drink (water bottles), sneakers, etc. Spikes are not needed. 

Weather

The camp is run RAIN or SHINE. If it rains during the week of camp, campers should be prepared to participate in the rain. We will move the camp indoors if the rain is too hard or if there is any lightning in the area. In the event of rain, we will use the gym areas, weight room, classrooms, and hallways in Parkland High School to train the athletes.
