1. Scope
Go Carbon Agent is a mobile app built by GPC Agro that gives field agents a dedicated app-shell view of the Carbon Mitra agent portal at gpcagro.in/go-carbon-agent. Agents use it for farmer onboarding, baseline surveys, activity verification, and tracking the program leaderboard.
This policy explains what the app itself accesses on your device, and what happens to information you submit through the portal it displays. It applies to the Android and iOS builds of Go Carbon Agent and to the web pages loaded inside them.
2. Information We Collect
Because the app is a secure shell around the Carbon Mitra web portal, most information is entered directly into that portal and handled by GPC Agro's servers — the app itself stores very little on its own.
Agent account details — Name, phone number, and login credentials used to sign in.
Farmer & survey data — Farmer names, contact details, land and crop information, baseline survey answers submitted on behalf of enrolled farmers.
Photos — Images captured or uploaded for baseline surveys and activity verification.
Location — GPS coordinates captured at the time of a survey or verification, to geo-tag the record to the correct field.
Usage data — Standard web request data (IP address, app version, device type) generated as the portal loads inside the app.
We do not ask for or knowingly collect payment card details, government ID numbers, or health information through this app.
3. Device Permissions
Camera — Used only when you choose to take a photo for a survey or verification form. Not accessed in the background.
Location (fine & coarse) — Used to attach GPS coordinates to a survey/verification you're actively submitting. Not tracked continuously or while the app is closed.
Internet — Required to load the portal and submit your work.
Photo library (iOS) — Requested only if you attach an existing photo instead of taking a new one.
4. How It's Used
Enrolling and managing farmers, so onboarding and baseline records are accurate.
Verifying field activity by matching photos and GPS data against expected locations.
Running the agent leaderboard.
Program administration and support, including troubleshooting.
We do not use this data for advertising or build advertising profiles from it.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell agent or farmer data. Information is shared only:
Within GPC Agro / Gpcgroup (program staff, infrastructure providers hosting gpcagro.in).
With carbon program partners or auditors, where required to validate verification data.
When required by law (legal obligation, court order, government request).
6. Storage & Security
Submitted data is stored on GPC Agro's servers (Odoo-based backend), not on your device. The app keeps only temporary session/cache data, cleared on uninstall. We use HTTPS for all traffic and access controls limiting who can view records internally. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. External Links & Apps
Actions like calling, WhatsApp messaging, SMS, UPI payment, or opening maps hand off to a separate app on your phone. That app's own privacy policy applies once you leave Go Carbon Agent.
8. Your Rights
As an agent, you can ask GPC Agro to access, correct, or delete the personal data tied to your account (subject to records we must retain for program/legal purposes). Farmers wanting to access or remove their survey data should contact GPC Agro directly.
9. Data Retention
We keep program data as long as needed to operate Carbon Mitra and meet audit, reporting, and legal obligations, which can extend beyond an agent's active participation. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymized.
10. Children's Privacy
Go Carbon Agent is a work tool for adult field agents. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app or program evolves. Material changes are reflected by updating the effective date above.
