أولياء الأمور الكرام،
لقد قام الطلبة بهذا الأسبوع بتكثيف جهودهم، واضطلعوا بدور قيادي هام ومميز. فعلاوة على بدء مناقشات اختيار أعضاء المجلس الطلابي، وقادة البيت، والطلبة المفوضين، قد ألهمنا الطلبة بمساهماتهم في فعاليات اليوم العالمي للسلام، واليوم الوطني للمملكة العربية السعودية. فقدرتهم على الإعراب عن رؤيتهم وقيمهم بفصاحة تعد دليلًا على تطويرهم لمهاراتهم القيادية.
وسيبدأ الطلبة بالاستعداد لأداء اختبارات التقييم الداخلية، وفي بعض الحالات، والخارجية بالأسبوع المقبل. وسيعمل المعلمون جاهدين لأجل دعم الطلبة في أداء اختبارات التقييم لأول مرة بهذا العام بعد فترة التعلم عن بعد. ونحن ملتزمون تمامًا بضمان تحقيق كل طالب لكامل إمكاناته، كما ستكون هذه العملية أمرًا أساسيًا وضروريًا في تحديد النواحي التي ستحتاج إلى المزيد من التركيز والتطوير بالعملية التعليمية المقدمة لدينا بهذا الفصل الدراسي.
وحيث إننا الآن مستقرون ومنتظمون بالعمل بأنظمتنا الروتينية الخاصة بهذا العام، فنحن نتطلع إلى قيامنا بالتحسينات المستمرة بكل نواحي عملنا. ومداخلات أولياء أمورنا في تشكيل وصياغة قراراتنا الاستراتيجية تعد دومًا محل تقدير كبير لدينا. وسنقوم بالأسبوع المقبل بإرسال المعلومات المتعلقة بكيفية انضمام أولياء الأمور إلى المجموعات الرئيسية للتركيز بهذا الفصل الدراسي، ونحن نتطلع إلى العمل مع أكبر عدد ممكن من أولياء الأمور في هذه العملية.
ويعد موقف السيارات واحدًا من الأمور التي ركزنا عليها بشكل خاص ببداية هذا العام الدراسي. ويستمر فريق العمليات المدرسي في العمل بدأب لأجل تطوير وتحسين النظام المستخدم حاليًا لأجل إدارة السلامة وتدفق الحركة المرورية بالفترة الصباحية وفترة ما بعد الظهيرة. وبينما نحن مستمرون في إدارة التصدي لهذه التحديات، نرجو من أولياء الأمور التكرم بتزويدنا بالدعم والمساعدة في ضمان الحفاظ على سلامة الجميع، وفي إرساء ثقافة مراعاة الغير، ودماثة الخلق، والاحترام.

Dear Respected Parents,
This week our students have really stepped up and taken the lead. In addition to starting to discuss Student Council, House Captains and Prefect positions, they have inspired us with their contributions to the International Day of Peace and Saudi National Day. Their ability to articulate their vision and values is a true testament to their developing leadership skills.
Students will be starting to get ready for internal and, in some cases, external assessments next week. Teachers will be working hard to support students in undertaking assessments for the first time this year following our period of remote learning last term. We are fully committed to ensuring that every student fulfills their potential and regular assessment is essential in identifying areas for further focus and development in our teaching this term.
As we now settle in to our routines this year we look forward to driving ongoing improvements in all areas of our work. The input of our parents in shaping our strategic decisions is always greatly valued. Next week we will be sending out information about how parents can get join our key focus groups this term and we look forward to working with as many parents as possible in this process.
One area that we have focused particularly closely on at the start of the year is our Drop-off and Pick-up arrangements. The School Operations Team continues to work hard to develop and refine the system in place to manage the safety and flow of traffic in the morning and afternoon. While we continue to manage this challenging area we ask for the support of our parents in helping to ensure the safety of all and establishing a culture of consideration, courtesy and respect.

أسبوع التقييم: سيؤدي الطلبة اختبارات التقييم الداخلية خلال الأسبوع الذي يبدأ بيوم الأحد الموافق 4 أكتوبر. وستقدم لنا اختبارات التقييم مؤشرًا على التقدم المحرز خلال الفصل الدراسي الأول. والمعلمون مدركون تمامًا لحاجتهم إلى تزويد الطلبة بالمزيد من الدعم في أعقاب فترة التعلم عن بعد الخاصة بالعام الماضي، وأيضًا في ظل تطبيقنا الحالي لتدابير الصحة والسلامة الجديدة. وسيكون دعم الطلبة أثناء فترة اختبارات التقييم هو نقطة التركيز الأساسية لورش أولياء الأمور لدينا بيوم الخميس الموافق 1 أكتوبر.
اختبارات تقدم GL: سيُكمل طلبة الصف الخامس – الحادي عشر اختبارات تقدم GL خلال الأسبوع الذي يبدأ بيوم الأحد الموافق 11 أكتوبر. وهذه الاختبارات يتم أداؤها من قبل الطلبة بكل مدارس المنهاج البريطاني بدبي، كما أنها تزودنا ببيانات هامة متعلقة بالتقييم المرجعي فيما يتعلق بتقدم مستوى الطلبة في اللغة الإنجليزية، والرياضيات، والعلوم. ونحن ممتنون إلى دعم أولياء الأمور في تقديم المساعدة والدعم إلى الطلبة في الاستعداد والجاهزية لأداء هذه الاختبارات. وسيقوم معلمونا بتقديم المزيد من الإرشادات إلى طلبتنا خلال الأسبوع المقبل، وسيكون دعم الطلبة أثناء فترة اختبارات التقييم هو نقطة التركيز الأساسية لورش أولياء الأمور لدينا بيوم الخميس الموافق 1 أكتوبر.
اتفاقية إحضار جهازك الإلكتروني الخاص إلى المدرسة (BYOD): تعد مبادرتنا الخاصة باتفاقية إحضار جهازك الإلكتروني الخاص إلى المدرسة جزءًا هامًا باستراتيجيتنا التعليمية بهذا العام الدراسي. ويتعين على أولياء أمور طلبة الصف الثالث وما يليه الاطلاع على الوارد أدناه الفقرة المنفصلة الخاصة باتفاقية إحضار جهازك الإلكتروني الخاص إلى المدرسة.
قيم هويتي لهذا الشهر (التكيف): بشهر أكتوبر سيكون موضوع قيم هويتي هو التكيف. وسيدعم المعلمون الطلبة بفهم أهمية القدرة على المرونة والتكيف من خلال الدروس، واللقاءات (الفقرات)الصباحية، ومن خلال تفاعلاتهم اليومية.
Assessment Week: Students will undertake internal assessments during the week commencing Sunday 4th October. The assessments will provide an indication of the progress made during this first half-term. Teachers are fully aware of the need to provide extra support for students following our period of remote learning last year and in light of the new health and safety measures currently in place. Supporting Students During Assessments will be the focus of our Parent Workshops on Thursday 1st October.
GL Progress Tests: Students in Years 5-11 will complete GL Progress Test Assessments during the week commencing Sunday 11th October. The assessments are taken by students in all British Curriculum schools in Dubai and provide important benchmarking data in relation to their progress in English, Mathematics and Science. We are grateful to the support of parents in helping students to prepare for these assessments. Teachers will be providing further guidance next week and Supporting Students During Assessments will be the focus of our Parent Workshops on Thursday 1st October.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): Our BYOD initiative is an important part of our educational strategy this year. Parents in Year 3 and above should please see the separate BYOD section below.
HAWIATEE Value of the Month Adaptability: In October our HAWIATEE Value of the month will be Adaptability. Teachers will be supporting students to understand the importance of being flexible and adaptable during lessons, assemblies and in their day-to-day interactions.

اتفاقية إحضار جهازك الإلكتروني الخاص إلى المدرسة تعد وسيلة لتمكين طلبتنا من تحقيق أقصى إمكاناتهم، وتساهم في جاهزيتهم لاستخدام التكنولوجيا كأداة بالوقت الحالي، وبالجامعة، ولاحقًا بأماكن العمل. حيث لا تنتقص التكنولوجيا من الدور الحيوي والفعال الذي يقوم به المعلم – فهي واحدة من الأدوات المؤثرة والفعالة التي نستخدمها لتحقيق الأثر التعليمي بمدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية.
ويرجى من أولياء الأمور القيام بما يلي:
ضمان شحن جهاز طفلكم بالكامل عند مجيئه إلى المدرسة، والتأكد من إحضاره للشاحن بحقيبته.
التأكد من تحميل طفلكم لتطبيق CLASS SEESAW.
دعم طفلكم في تمكنه من الوصول بسهولة إلى متصفح الإنترنت المتواجد على جهازه الإلكتروني.
التحدث إلى أطفالكم عن خصوصية الصور الموجودة على أجهزتهم، وبخاصةً صور عائلاتكم.

BYOD is a way to empower students to maximize their full potential and to
prepare them for using technology as a tool for now, college and later in the workplace. Technology does not diminish the vital role of the teacher – it is one of the powerful tools we use in school to impact learning at GNS.

Student Council at GNS
المجلس الطلابي بالمرحلة الابتدائية
لقد عاد المجلس الطلابي بالمرحلة الابتدائية من جديد! هل لديك ما يلزم لتصبح قائدًا؟ سؤال كنا نطرحه على متعلمينا الصغار طوال الأسبوع.
والهدف من المجلس الطلابي هو منح الطلبة فرصة لتطوير مهاراتهم القيادية من خلال تنظيم وتنفيذ الأنشطة والمشاريع المدرسية. وعلاوة على التخطيط للفعاليات التي تساهم في إثراء الروح المدرسية، يعد المجلس الطلابي صوتًا للكيان الطلابي. وتساعد المجالس الطلابية في مشاركة أفكار الطلبة، واهتماماتهم، وشواغلهم مع المجتمع المدرسي الكبير.
وعلى مدار الأسابيع القليلة القادمة، سيتم إعلام قاداتنا الصغار بعمليات المجالس الطلابية في مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية، وسيتوقع منهم البدء في حملاتهم الانتخابية!
وفي حال رغبة أطفالكم بالانضمام إلى مرشحي المجلس الطلابي، يرجى التأكد من جاهزية الطلبة وإعدادهم لخطاب وعرض تقديمي (أو ملصق إعلاني) كي يتم عرضه وتقدميه إلى زملائهم. وبالنسبة إلى المتعلمين عن بعد، تصويركم لمقطع فيديو سيفي بالغرض! وسيكون يوم الأربعاء الموافق 7 أكتوبر هو آخر يوم بالحملة الانتخابية.
على أن يتم الإعلان عن ممثلي مجلسنا الطلابي بيوم 14 أكتوبر.

Primary Student Council
The primary student council is back! Do you have what it takes to be a leader? A question we have been asking our young learners all week.
The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop their leadership skills by organizing and carrying out school activities and projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.
For the next few weeks our young leaders will be informed of the processes of the Student Council at GNS and will be expected to start their campaigning!
If your child wishes to take part in the run for Student Council please have them prepare a speech and presentation (or poster) to be presented to their classmates. For our Remote Learners a video will suffice! The last day of campaigning is Wednesday October 7th.
Our Student Council Representatives will be announced on October 14th.

International Day of Peace
نحتفل هذا الأسبوع باليوم العالمي للسلام. وقد حظي طلبتنا بفرصة للتوقيع على كتاب افتراضي بكتابة رسائلهم به. وأهم رسائل الطلبة كانت – لماذا لا يمكننا أن نحظى كل يوم بيوم للسلام. فنحن هنا بمدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية نشكل براعم قادة المستقبل – فهذه الرسالة واحدة من الرسائل المؤثرة والقوية لكي يؤمنوا بها.
This week we took part in the International Day of Peace. Our students had the opportunity to sign a virtual book with their messages. The students overriding message was – why can’t every day be a day of peace. We are shaping here at GNS the leaders of tomorrow – this message is a powerful one for them to believe in.
Saudi National Day
احتفلت مدرستنا هذا الأسبوع باليوم الوطني التسعين للمملكة العربية السعودية الموافق ليوم الأربعاء 23 سبتمبر. وقد قام طلابنا ومعلمونا بالعديد من الأنشطة المختلفة التي تعبر عن الحب والتقدير والاحترام للشعب السعودي الشقيق بهذه المناسبة العظيمة التي تمثل للشعب السعودي والإماراتي على حد سواء أهمية كبيرة. ونحن نتهتم في مدرستنا مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية بتعزيز رؤية دولة الإمارات والقيادة الرشيدة في نفوس طلابنا وغرز قيم الولاء والانتماء والاحترام المتبادل بين الشعوب. كما نحقق أيضا ميثاق الأخوة والإنسانية المشترك بين شعب الإمارات والشعب السعودي (الإماراتي سعودي والسعودي إماراتي). ومن كل أسرة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية بخالص الحب والفخر والتقدير نهنئ الشعب السعودي الشقيق. عيدكم عيدنا .
This week our school celebrated 90th Saudi National Day on Wednesday 23 September. Our students and teachers had undertaken various activities to express their love, appreciation and love for Saudi people on this momentous occasion that is considered to be of great importance for both Saudi and Emirati people. In GNS, we pay attention to strengthen the vision and far-sighted leadership of UAE in our students; and to endorse the values of loyalty, citizenship and mutual respect among peoples. We also realise the joint bond of humanism and fraternity between Saudi and Emirati people (Emirati – Saudi/ Saudi – Emirati). With sincerely love, pride and appreciation, we all in GNS congratulate the Saudi people on this event. Your Day is our Day!

معلومات طبية
حال كان لدى أطفالكم ظروف صحية خاصة تجعلهم ضمن فئة "المعرضين لخطر الإصابة"، يرجى ضمان متابعتكم مع الطبيب المعالج للحصول على شهادة سلامة صحية لأطفالكم كي يتمكنوا من الحضور إلى المدرسة. وذلك وفقًا إلى إرشادات هيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية، وسيتواصل فريقنا الطبي مع العائلات بخصوص هذا الشأن على مدار الأسبوع المقبل.
ونود تذكير أولياء الأمور بضرورة فحص حالة سجلات أطفالهم الطبية، والتنسيق مع العيادة المدرسية في حال:
Ø يعاني طفلكم الآن من حالة صحية خاصة لم يكن يعاني منها سابقًا.
Ø تتطلب حالة طفلكم تناول الدواء لفترة طويلة أو لفترة قصيرة.
Ø لم يعد طفلكم يعاني من أي ظروف صحية، أو أنه قد تغيرت درجة خطورة حالته الصحية.
Ø لم تقوموا بعد بإكمال تفاصيل المعلومات الطبية الخاصة بطفلكم.
وبالنسبة إلى الطلبة الذين قد تغيبوا عن المدرسة بسبب الإعياء، أو الذين قد خضعوا إلى فترة الحجر الصحي، يتعين عليهم زيارة العيادة المدرسية، قبل حضور الحصص الدراسية، حتى يتسنى لفريقنا الطبي تقييم حالة أطفالكم، وتزويدهم بتصريح للعودة إلى الفصل. وهذه الإجراءات ترمي إلى سلامة أطفالكم، وسلامة كل طلبتنا وفريق عملنا. وهذه الممارسات يتم تطبيقها أيضًا على فريق العمل لدينا.
ونود تذكير العائلات باتباع سياسة "البقاء بالمنزل حال الشعور بالإعياء"، وأن يُبقوا أطفالهم بالمنزل، لأخذ قسطًا من الراحة، حال شعورهم بالإعياء. وفي حال ظهور أي أعراض للأنفلونزا على طفلكم، يرجى التأكد من إعلام معلم الفصل الخاص بطفلكم وإعلام مسؤول الصحة والسلامة لدينا عبر البريد الإلكتروني StaySafe_gns@gemsedu.com، وزيارة الطبيب المعالج لعائلتكم للحصول على المزيد من الإرشادات.
MEDICAL INFORMATION
If your child has a health condition which places them in the ‘at risk’ category, please ensure you have followed up with your medical practitioner for a clearance certificate for them to be in school. This is as per the DHA guidelines and our medical team will be in contact with families this is relevant to over the coming week.
Parents are reminded to please check the status of your child’s medical records and coordinate with our school clinic if;
Ø Your child now has a condition they previously did not have
Ø Your child requires short term or long term medicine
Ø Your child no longer has a condition, or the condition severity has changed
Ø You have not yet completed the required medical information details for your child
For students who have been absent due to illness or who may have been in quarantine, a visit to the clinic is required, before attending class, for the medical team to assess your child and provide clearance to return to class. This is for the safety of your child and for all of our students and staff. The same practice is in place for staff also.
Families are reminded to follow our ‘Stay at Home if Unwell’ policy, keeping your child at home, to rest, if they are not feeling well. If your child is experiencing any flu like symptoms, please do make sure you update the class teacher as well as our Health and Safety Officer at StaySafe_gns@gemsedu.com and visit your family doctor for further guidance.

نحن نتطلع إلى عام دراسي مثمر ورائع مع التزامنا بأعلى معاير الصحة والسلامة. ويعد اطلاعنا، بكل الأوقات، على آخر المستجدات المتعلقة بالتطورات/ الشواغل الصحية لدى الطلبة أو عائلاتهم بشأن فيروس كورونا المستجد هو أحد النقاط الهامة التي يتوجي علينا ضمانها. ولهذا الغرض، قمنا بإنشاء بريد إلكتروني مخصص لجمع كافة المعلومات الهامة ذات الصلة بهذا الشأن.

Stay Safe
We look forward to a fantastic and fruitful academic year with high standards of Health and Safety. One of the key points that we need to secure about is that we are, at all times, updated about any COVID-19 related health concerns/developments in students or their families. For this purpose, we have created a dedicated email ID to gather all important information related to this.
We request you to please send any COVID-19 updates to staysafe_gns@gemsedu.com immediately. This email account will be regularly and frequently monitored and actioned by our Health and Safety Officer, Mrs. Pauline Bruce as well as our School Doctor, Dr. Amira.

Stay Home If Unwell - Policy
As per the guidance received from KHDA, we have developed a ‘Stay at home if unwell’ policy for our school. This policy is relevant to our students, staff and parents, our whole community.

Jewels of Kindness
لقد تم في العام الدراسي الماضي إطلاق برنامج "نجوم جيمس في حسن معاملة الآخرين"، الذي يهدف إلى الإشادة بالطلبة الذين يتحلون بسلوكيات تمثل قيم الاحترام والإحسان للآخرين. كما تكمن أهمية هذا البرنامج في التأكيد على ضرورة تعليم هذه القيم للطلبة ليصبحوا مواطنين عالميين صالحين.
At the end of last year, we launched the GEMS Jewels of Kindness program which seeks to exemplify students exhibiting core values including compassion, kindness, respect, helpfulness and empathy.
The aim of this program is to emphasize the importance of values education to help our children become better world citizens.

و هو برنامج يتكون من عناصر عدة تطمح إلى المساعدة في الحد من تأثير الرسوم الدراسية السنوية و المساعدة في تحقيق هدف جعل التعليم الجيد متاحًا.
GEMS Rewards is our way of saying thank you to our community of Parents, Staff and Students.
It is a structured programme which consists of multiple components which aspire to help reduce the impact of annual tuition fees and help achieve the objective of making quality education accessible.
