أولياء الأمور الكرام،
أود أن أعرب لكم جميعًا عن شكري لدعمكم لنا خلال هذا الفصل الدراسي المليء بالتحديات. فقد ألهمتني قدرة طلبتنا على التكيف مع الوسائل التعليمية الجديدة المتبعة والعمل معنا وتقديم هذه المساهمات الهامة والقيمة. وقد أظهر أدائهم وإنجازاتهم في العديد من الفعاليات والأنشطة حرصهم والتزامهم نحو الجودة التعليمية الفريدة وخدمتهم وتعاونهم لمجتمعنا. وقد تضمن ذلك تحقيق الطلبة للنتائج الرائعة والمميزة في اختبارات الشهادة العامة الدولية للتعليم الثانوي لعام 2020، وتلك النتائج توازي درجة 1 من نظام أداء المستوى أ (مما يشير إلى أفضل أداء بنسبة 1% مقارنةً مع كل الطلبة الذين خضعوا لهذه الاختبارات)، وقد مثل الطلبة مدرستهم بثقة وفخر أثناء تقديمهم لعروض الأداء والعروض التقديمية بالفعاليات المجتمعية، على سبيل المثال: GEMS Scope على الإنترنت، ومؤتمرات أكسبو، واحتفالاتنا المشهودة بيوم العلم واليوم الوطني الإماراتي.
وقد قمنا بمشاركتكم بالنموذج التعليمي النهائي للفصل الدراسي الثاني والمعتمد من قبل هيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية. ونحن على ثقة بأن هذا النموذج يفي بالتزامنا نحو تقديم عملية تعليمية مباشرة بنسبة 100%، وتوفير نموذج مستدام يسمح لكل طلبتنا بالعودة إلى المدرسة عند جاهزيتهم للقيام بذلك. وبالوقت نفسه، نحن نؤمن بأن هذا النموذج يعد استجابة للملاحظات التي وجهها لنا أولياء الأمور بشأن مقترحنا المبدئي. وسنقوم الآن بالمتابعة مع أولياء أمور طلبة مرحلة الروضة بشكل منفصل لبحث عمليات تطوير خطط الفصل الدراسي الثاني.
وأنا ممتن جدًا لكل أعضاء فريق العمل، والطلبة، وأولياء الأمور الذين يستمرون دومًا في إظهار قدرتهم الكبيرة على التكيف على مدار هذا العام الدراسي.
كما استمتع للغاية برؤية اشتراك طلبتنا الكامل في الاستعدادات الخاصة بفعالية اليوم العالمي للغة العربية بيوم الجمعة الموافق 18 ديسمبر. وتهدف رؤيتنا إلى استعداد وجاهزية كل متعلمينا بمدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية ليصبحوا الجيل القادم من قادة الإمارات العربية المتحدة المتمكنين من اللغة العربية والفخورين بهويتهم العربية والإماراتية. وأنا أتطلع إلى احتفال مجتمعنا المدرسي بهذه الفعالية بالأسبوع المقبل عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
وبالنهاية، أود أن أشكر أولياء أمورنا على ثقتهم الغالية بنا وتفهمهم لنا في سعينا نحو القيام بالتحسينات المستمرة في عمليتنا التعليمية المقدمة لكل طلبتنا. كما أن مردوداتكم وملاحظاتكم المقدمة إلينا من خلال قنواتنا المتنوعة لها محل تقدير كبير، وسيتم الاستعانة بها في التخطيط الخاص باستعدادنا لعامنا الجديد المثير 2021.
Dear Respected Parents,
I would like to thank you all for your support during this term of unique challenges. I have been inspired by the ability of our students to adapt to such new ways of learning and working and make such valued and meaningful contributions. Their achievements and performance across a wide range of events and activities demonstrate their commitment to educational excellence and the serving of their community. This has included the outstanding results of students in their IGCSE examinations in 2020 which generated an ALPS 1 score (indicating top 1% performance when compared to the performance of all students taking the examinations) and students representing their school with such confidence and pride, delivering performances and presentations at community events such as the online GEMS Scope and Expo Conferences and our memorable Flag Day and National Day school celebrations.
We have already shared our final KHDA-approved Term 2 Education Model. We are confident that this fulfills our commitment to delivering 100% face-to-face learning and provides a sustainable model allowing all students to return to school when they feel ready to do so. At the same time we believe the model responds to the observations expressed by parents in our initial proposal. We will now follow up with parents with students in the Foundation Stage separately with regards to the development of plans for Term 2.
I am extremely grateful to all staff members, students and parents who continue to demonstrate so much adaptability throughout this academic year.
I am very much enjoying seeing our students engage so fully with preparations for World Arabic Language Day on Friday 18th December. Our vision is for all our learners to be prepared during their time at GEMS Al Barsha National School to be the next generation of UAE Leaders with a firm command of their Arabic language and identity. I am looking forward to our community celebrating this event together next week via social media.
Finally I would like to thank our parents for their trust and patience as we strive to make ongoing improvements to our educational offer. The feedback given through our range of channels is valued greatly and will be used in our planning as we prepare for an exciting 2021.

نهنئ كل طلبتنا على إكمال اختبارات نهاية الفصل الدراسي الأول التي قاموا بأدائها على مدار الأسبوعين الماضيين. وسيعمل المعلمون على إكمال تقارير الأداء الخاصة بالفصل الدراسي الأول بعد إجازة الشتاء، على أن يتم مشاركتها مع أولياء الأمور بشهر يناير قبل بدء الدورة القادمة من اجتماعات أولياء الأمور مع المعلمين.
يتعين على طلبة الصف الثاني عشر الاستمرار في الاستعداد والجاهزية لأداء اختباراتهم التجريبية الهامة والتي ستُجرى في شهر يناير.

آخر مستجدات سلسلة الاختبارات: لقد أكد مكتب تنظيم المؤهلات والامتحانات بالمملكة المتحدة (Ofqual) على وجود تغييرات بسلسلة اختبارات عام 2021 بسبب ما خلفه فيروس كورونا المستجد على العملية التعليمية المقدمة للطلبة:
- بتاريخ 3 ديسمبر، أكدت الإدارة التعليمية بإنجلترا على أنه سيتم إعطاء الدرجات بشكل أكثر سخاءً من الشكل المعتاد، وبما يتماشى مع النتائج الوطنية الواردة من عام 2020.
- نافذة اختبارات الشهادة العامة الدولية للتعليم الثانوي: 17 مايو – 18 يونيو/ يوم الإعلان عن نتائج اختبارات الشهادة العامة الدولية للتعليم الثانوي: 27 أغسطس 2021.

Huge congratulations to all students on completing their end-of-term 1 assessments over the last 2 weeks. Teachers will complete Term 1 report cards after the Winter Break to be shared with parents in January ahead of our next round of Parent Teacher Consultations.
Year 12 Students should continue preparing for their important mock examinations which will take place in January.
World Arabic Language Day is on Friday 18th December. Please see details below of our whole school community can get involved.
Exams Series updates: Ofqual confirmed there would be changes to the 2021 examination series due to the impact coronavirus has had on students’ education:
- On 3 December, the Department for Education in England confirmed that grades will be more generous than usual and in line with national outcomes from 2020.
- International GCSE Exam Window: 17 May – 18 June / International GCSE Results Day: 27 August 2021
- International AS/A level Exam Window: 5 May – 17 June / International AS/A level Results Day: 19 August 2021

Term 2 Model
نتائج المشاورات الخاصة بالنموذج التعليمي للفصل الدراسي الثاني
نود أن نعرب عن شكرنا وامتناننا لكم على مشاركتكم المتعاونة والمفيدة جدًا في المشاورات الخاصة بالنموذج التعليمي للفصل الدراسي الثاني.
ونحن حريصون على الاستعانة بمردوداتكم القيمة كي نتمكن من اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات السليمة حتى يتسنى لنا القيام بما يلي:
· تحسين المعايير الأكاديمية استنادًا إلى المردودات والملاحظات الواردة إلينا من الفصل الدراسي الأول.
· تقديم نموذج تعليمي مباشر بنسبة 100% لضمان وجود وقت كافي لأجل تقديم الدعم لطلبتنا في تحصيل معايير المنهاج التعليم ذات الصلة.
الردود الواردة على الاستبيان:
· لقد تلقينا ردودًا من 318 ولي أمر على الاستبيان.
· وقد أدلى 71% من المشاركين بالاستبيان بدعمهم للخطط المعينة في مشاوراتنا الخاصة بترتيبات الفصل الدراسي الثاني.
وعليه، سيكون نموذج تقديم العملية التعليمية بالفصل الدراسي الثاني على النحو الوارد أدناه:
1. تقديم العملية التعليمية المباشرة بنسبة 100%: من الأحد إلى الخميس للصف الأول وحتى الصف الثاني عشر، مع الإبقاء على الترتيبات الحالية الخاصة باصطحاب الطلبة في أوقات بعد الظهيرة، بما في ذلك: الحصة السادسة الاختيارية/ الإشراف على الأشقاء.
2. توفير خيار الاستمرار في تلقي العملية عن بعد للطلبة بالصف الأول – الثاني عشر بيوم الخميس من كل أسبوع.
3. وبالمرحلة الابتدائية، سنقدم نموذج تناوبي للطلبة المتعلمين في مجموعات إضافية في حين تجاوز العدد الطلابي للقدرة الاستيعابية للفصول.
4. توفير خيار الاستمرار في العمل بالبرنامج الحالي للتعلم عن بعد بنسبة 100%.
1- الجدول الزمني الكامل بنسبة 100% من الأحد إلى الخميس للصف الأول وحتى الصف الثاني عشر:
- سيحضر طلبة الصف الأول – الثاني عشر إلى المدرسة من يوم الأحد إلى الخميس.
- وبالنسبة لطلبة المرحلة الابتدائية الدراسين بالصف الأول – السادس، ستظل مواعيد اصطحاب الطلبة كما هي بين الساعة 2:00م وحتى الساعة 2:20م، مع الإبقاء على وجود خيار آخر لاصطحاب الطلبة بوقت متأخر في تمام الساعة 2:40م.
- سيستمر العمل بالمواعيد الاعتيادية لاصطحاب طلبة الصف السابع – الثاني عشر فيما بين الساعة 2:40م والساعة 3:00م.
- لن يكون هناك تغييرًا في مواعيد مغادرة الحافلات المدرسية.
يرجى الاطلاع على الجدول الوارد أدناه لتوضيح مواعيد اصطحاب الطلبة:
2- توفير خيار الاستمرار بتلقي التعلم عن بعد لطلبة الصف الأول – الثاني عشر بيوم الخميس:
- قد أعرب بعض أولياء الأمور عن رغبتهم الشديدة في الإبقاء على التعلم عن بعد بيوم الخميس، وذلك في ضوء إنفاذ تدابيرنا التعزيزية للصحة والسلامة بهذا العام، ولأجل دعم التطور المستمر للمهارات التعلمية المستقلة الخاصة بالطلبة. وبالنسبة للطلبة الذين سيحصلون على العملية التعليمية بشكل مباشر في الفصل الدراسي الثاني من الأحد إلى الأربعاء، سيتوفر لهم خيار الاستمرار بتلقي العملية التعليمية عن بعد بيوم الخميس.
3- التناوب بين طلبة المرحلة الابتدائية حال تجاوز العدد الطلابي للقدرة الاستيعابية للفصول المدرسية:
- سيتم إعادة تنظيم استخدام المساحات لأجل تكييف نموذجنا التعليمي الكامل بنسبة 100% وتهيئة الطلبة العائدين للعملية التعليمية المباشرة.
- سنستمر في الالتزام بكل قوة وصرامة بكافة لوائح وقواعد هيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية. وفي حال تجاوز العدد الطلابي للقدرة الاستيعابية للفصول، سنعمل على تناوب الطلبة المتعلمين في مجموعات إضافية لفترات زمنية على مدار الأسبوع.
- على سبيل المثال: في حال وجود 18 طالب من الراغبين في تلقي العملية التعليمية بشكل مباشر بالمدرسة في مجموعة تعلمية واحدة، وذلك في حين أن القدرة الاستيعابية للفصل هي 15 طالب، سيتم إخراج 3 طلاب من المجموعة بشكل تناوبي للحصول على نفس العملية التعلمية بدعم من أعضاء الفريق التعليمي. وفي حال تم مطالبة الطلبة بالعمل في مجموعات إضافية، سيتم القيام بذلك الأمر على فترات قصيرة خلال اليوم الدراسي (على سبيل المثال: 2 – 3 حصص). وسيعمل الطلبة عادةً بساحات تعليمية قريبة من فصولهم الرئيسية، وسيحصلون على نفس النشاطات التعلمية عن طريق برنامج Microsoft Teams.
كما سنعقد اجتماعًا منفصلًا مع أولياء أمور طلبة الروضة 2 ببداية الفصل الدراسي الثاني لبحث المشاورات الخاصة بإمكانية تمديد ساعات اليوم الدراسي.

Term 2 Educational Model Consultation Outcome
We would like to thank you for your participation and extremely helpful engagement in our Term 2 Educational Model Consultation. We are committed to using your valuable feedback to enable us to take the correct course of action so that we can:
• improve academic standards building on feedback from Term 1.
• provide additional learning models, including an option to return to 100% in-person learning model from Term 2. while adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Survey responses:
• 318 parents responded to the survey.
• 71% of respondents stated that they support the plans outlined in our consultation on Term 2 arrangements.
As such, the Term 2 Education Delivery Model will:
1. Deliver 100% face-to-face provision Sunday to Thursday for Years 1-12 but maintain the existing afternoon pick-up arrangements including the optional Lesson 6/sibling supervision.
2. Provide the option for students in Years 1-12 to continue learning remotely on Thursday.
3. Introduce a rotation model in the primary phase of students learning in break-out groups where student numbers exceed class capacity.
4. Provide the option to continue with the current 100% Remote Learning Programme.
1. 100% Timetable Sunday to Thursday for Years 1-12:
- Students in Years 1-12 will attend school Sunday to Thursday.
- For Primary Students in Years 1-6, pick-up time will continue to be between 2.00pm to 2.20pm with the option of a later 2.40pm collection maintained.
- The standard pick-up time for students in Years 7-12 will continue to be between 2.40pm to 3.00pm.
- There will be no change to the departure of school buses.

2. Providing the option for students in Years 1-12 to continue learning remotely on Thursday:
- Some parents expressed a strong preference for retaining Thursday as a Remote Learning Day in light of the implementation of our robust health and safety measures this year and to support the ongoing development of students’ independent learning skills. In Term 2 students who access face-to-face learning Sunday to Wednesday will have the option to opt to continue accessing Remote Learning on Thursday.
3. Primary Phase Rotations where student numbers exceed class capacity:
- Use of space will be reorganized in order to accommodate our 100% model and students returning to face-toface learning.
- We will continue to adhere strictly to all KHDA regulations. Where student numbers exceed class capacity, we will introduce a rotation of students learning in break-out groups for periods of time during the week.
- For example, if there are 18 students requesting face to face learning in a teaching group where the classroom accommodates 15 students, then 3 students from the group will work in a break-out learning hub on a rotation, to access the same learning with the support of members of the education team. If students are required to work in breakout groups, this will be for short periods of the day (eg 2-3 lessons). Students would usually work in teaching spaces close to their main classroom and access the same learning activities via Microsoft Teams.
There will be a separate consultation that will take place with parents from FS2 at the start of Term 2 in relation to the possibility of extending the school day.

IGCSE Awards Evening
أمسية توزيع جوائز الشهادة العامة الدولية للتعليم الثانوي
احتفل مجتمع مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية بيوم الأربعاء بإنجازات طلبتنا في اختبارات الشهادة العامة للتعليم الثانوي بالعام الماضي، من خلال الفعالية التي أُقيمت على الإنترنت. وقد استمعنا خلال هذه الفعالية لخطاب السيد/ كريم، وشاهدنا العروض التقديمة الخاصة لطلبة الصف الحادي عشر لعام 2019-2020. فقد سعدنا وشرفنا بطلبتنا الحاصلين على أعلى درجات والمحققين للإنجازات الفريدة في التقدم الأكاديمي.
النقاط الهامة بالشهادة العامة للتعليم الثانوي لعام 2020:
· حققت مجموعتنا الأولى لاختبارات الشهادة العامة للتعليم الثانوي تقدمًا ممتازًا بمعدل تحصيل نصف درجة على الأقل أعلى من الأهداف الموضوعة للطلبة بشكل عام.
· ويعد طلبة مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية ضمن أعلى 1% على مستوى العالم تحقيقًا للتقدم وفقًا لنظام أداء المستوى أ.
· و84% من الدرجات تعادل 9-4 بصورة متسقة بين البنين والبنات.

On Wednesday the GNS community celebrated the achievements of the previous year’s GCSE students, the event was held online. The event included a speech from Mr Karim and the presentation of the 2019 – 2020 Year 11 students. It was our pleasure to honour our students with top attainment scores exceptional achievement in academic progress.
2020 GCSE Highlights:
Our first GCSE cohort has made excellent progress on average making at least half a grade above their targets across the board.
GNS students are among the top 1% across the world for progress according to ALPS.
84% of the grades are between 9- 4 consistently across boys and girls.

كمدرسة، نحن مستمرون في العمل بجد مع طلبة الصف الحادي عشر والصف الثاني عشر لضمان استعدادهم لأداء اختبارات الشهادة العامة للتعليم الثانوي واختبارات مستوى أ. كما وضعنا خططًا لمجموعة متنوعة من الاستراتيجيات والمناهج المخصصة لتأمين تحقيق أفضل النتائج لطلبتنا. ونحن نؤمن جدًا بأهمية دور كل من المدرسة والمنزل في دعم أولادنا وبناتنا خلال هذه المرحلة الهامة.
وخلال الأسبوع الأول من إجازة الشتاء، ندعو طلبة الصف الحادي عشر والصف الثاني عشر إلى حضور حصص المدخلات المباشرة على الإنترنت. وسيتم تقديم هذه الحصص من قبل معلمي المواد لأجل تناول الفجوات وتقديم الدعم. وقد تم إرسال رسالة بريد إلكتروني بالجدول المفصل الخاص بهذه الحصص. كما تم إرسال هذا الجدول أيضًا على صفحة طفلكم ببرنامج Teams.
As a school we continue to work very hard with Year 11 and Year 12 students to ensure they are ready for their upcoming GCSE and A Level exams. We have planned a variety of strategies and approaches designed to secure the very best outcomes for our students. We truly believe in the importance in the roles of both school and home in supporting our boys and girls throughout this critical stage.
During the first week of the winter break, Year 11 and 12 students are invited to attend online intervention sessions. The sessions will be facilitated by their subject teachers to address gaps and support material. An email with detailed schedule has been sent. This schedule has also been posted on your child’s Teams page.

القراءة هي المفتاح لدخول عوالم جديدة وساحرة يدخل معها نور العلم والثقافة إلى دواخلنا، وهي رياضة للعقل، بها نحافظ على صحة عقولنا، هذا بالإضافة إلى كونها نشاطاً مسلياً يمنحنا الفرصة للخروج من ضغوطات الحياة والاندماج في عالم الروايات والقصص فيعطينا الراحة التي نحتاجها.
تعمل القراءة على تنمية اللغة والقدرة على الفهم والإدراك السليم وحل المشكلات وتنظيم الأفكار وهي ركيزة أساسية لبناء شخصية الإنسان، والقراءة هواية رائعة وسهلة.
وفي الوقت الحاضر أصبحت القراءة أسهل في ظل انتشار الكتب والمنصات الالكترونية ولم يعد ضرورياً شراء الكتب بل يمكنكم الحصول على عدة كتب وقصص بنقرة زر واحدة.
وعلينا نحن الآباء والأمهات والمعلمين أن نحرص على غرس حب القراءة في نفوس أطفالنا منذ الصغر، وأن نشجعهم على حمل الكتب بحب، وممارسة القراءة بشغف. فتخصيص 15 دقيقة يوميا للقراءة كافية ليعتاد الطفل على وجود الكتاب في حياته كجزء أساسي من يومه.
من يقرأ يعطي روحه فرصة للسفر، وتخطي حدود الزمان والمكان، فالقراءة شي ثمين
إذاً لِنقرأ مع أطفالنا لننشئ جيلاً واعياً مثقفاً، لِنقرأ في الأدب .... في الشعر .... الروايات .... والتاريخ والعلوم والدين.
لِنقرأ لنطبق أول آيات القرآن " اقرأ".
ودعماً لحملة # جيمس_تقرأ_بالعربية، أود دعوتكم للقيام معا في مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية لتخصيص 15 دقيقة من وقتنا يوم الجمعة الموافق 18\12\2020 في تمام الساعة 11:00 صباحاً لنقرأ معاً في الوقت واللحظة نفسها.

Reading is the key to new and charming worlds as it brings the light of knowledge and culture to our souls. It is a mental exercise through which we can preserve our mental wellbeing. It is also a fun activity that enables us to escape from the stresses of life in to the world of stories and novels, giving us enjoyment and comfort.
Reading promotes language development, understanding, problem solving and organizing ideas. It is an essential foundation of building and developing the human personality.
Nowadays, reading has become more easier with the spread of online books and digital platforms. It is no longer necessary to buy books as we can access many books and stories with one click.
As parents and teachers, we should commit to instill the love of reading in our children souls from an early age and encourage them to carry books with love and to read with passion. Allowing 15 minutes per day is sufficient in helping to get a child used to having books as an integral part of his or her daily life.

قيادة الروضة والمرحلة الابتدائية للبنات
يؤسفنا أن نودع السيدة/ ليندا ماكراتني بنهاية هذا الفصل الدراسي. فقد قدمت ليندا إسهامات مميزة واستثنائية من خلال تقلدها لمنصب مديرة المرحلة الابتدائية والروضة، ونحن نتوجه لها بوافر الشكر على عنايتها الفائقة والتزامها البالغ نحو طلبتنا ومجتمعنا المدرسي. فقد كانت خبرتها الواسعة وإخلاصها الفريد لا يقدران بثمن، حيث أنها قامت بقيادة فريقها ودعم الطلبة وأولياء الأمور طوال فترة عملها بمدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية. ونحن نتمنى لها كل الخير والتوفيق في حياتها المستقبلية.
كما يسرنا الإعلان عن تولي السيدة/ سارة ليونارد لمنصب مديرة الروضة والمرحلة الابتدائية للبنات، وذلك اعتبارًا من شهر يناير القادم. وقد أعربت السيدة/ سارة عن حماسها لقيادة الفريق وللعمل مع متعلمينا وعائلاتنا في هذه المرحلة الجديدة والحافلة بمقومات التطوير والارتقاء بمدرستنا.
Primary Girls and FS Leadership
we will sadly be saying farewell to Mrs. Lynda Haynes Mccartney at the end of this term. Lynda has made exceptional contributions in her role as Head of Primary and FS and we thank her for her outstanding care and commitment to our students and school community. Her considerable experience and exceptional dedication have been invaluable as she has led her team and supported students and parents throughout her time at GEMS Al Barsha National School. We wish her the very best for the future.
We are delighted to announce that Mrs. Sarah Leonard will be taking on the role of Head of Primary Girls and FS from January. Mrs. Sarah is excited to be leading the team and working with our learners and families in this next exciting chapter of our school’s development.
Mask exemption
رسالة من هيئة المعرفة :
نحيطكم علماً أن ارتداء الكمامات ما يزال إجراءً إلزامياً لجميع الموجودين في مقر المدرسة ممن تزيد أعمارهم على 6 سنوات.
أمّا في حال كان الطالب يعاني من وضع صحيّ يتطلب إعفاءه من ارتداء الكمامة، فينبغي على ولي أمره التقدم بطلبٍ للحصول على "تصريح إعفاء" من خلال البوابة الإلكترونية لشرطة دبي عبر هذا الرابط. يتم الرد على الطلبات عادةً في غضون خمسة أيام، وسيكون على ولي الأمر تقديم المستندات الطبية ذات الصلة كجزء من الطلب.
وإذا تمت الموافقة على الطلب من شرطة دبي، فقد يُعفى الطالب من ارتداء الكمامة في مبنى المدرسة، ولكن يجب عليه الالتزام بجميع الإجراءات الاحترازية الأخرى للحفاظ على الصحة والسلامة، ومنها التباعد الجسدي.
Notice from KHDA :
Please note that masks are still mandatory for everyone at school above the age of six years.
If a student has a medical condition which necessitates an exemption to wearing a face mask, parents must apply for an exemption through the Dubai Police portal by using this link. Applications are typically processed within five days, and parents will have to provide supporting medical documents as part of the application.
If the application is approved by Dubai Police, the student may be exempt from wearing a mask on campus, but must follow all other social distancing and health and safety protocols.

Travel Advice
سيتم إرسال رابط إقرار السفر لكل أولياء الأمور عن طريق البريد الإلكتروني رأسًا من مؤسسة جيمس للتعليم. ويرجى من الجميع إكمال هذا الإقرار، من المسافرين وغير المسافرين.
وبالنسبة للذين سيسافرون خارج الدولة بالإجازة الشتوية، يرجى ملاحظة النقاط الهامة التالية:
1. إكمال إقرار السفر.
2. إجراء اختبار فحص PCR سواء بمطار دبي أو داخل أي مركز معتمد من قبل هيئة الصحة بدبي داخل إمارة دبي.
3. تأخذ نتائج هذا الفحص ما يصل إلى 48 ساعة حتى ظهورها، لذا يرجى الأخذ بهذا الأمر في عين الاعتبار عند التخطيط لتاريخ العودة.
4. يجب أن تكون نتائج اختبار فحص PCR صالحة لمدة 48 ساعة بوقت العودة إلى المدرسة.
5. لا يحتاج الأطفال الأصغر من 12 سنة لعمل هذا الاختبار، ومع ذلك، ففي حال رغبتكم بعودة طفلكم إلى المدرسة بعد العودة من السفر، سيتعين عليه إكمال فترة الحجر الصحي بالمنزل ومدتها 14 يومًا أو تقديم نتيجة فحص اختبار PCR السلبية لأجل استكمال تلقي العملية التعليمية بالمدرسة.
All parents will receive a Travel Declaration link, sent via email, centrally from GEMS Education. We request everyone to fill this, those traveling and those who are not.
For those who will travel out of the UAE for the winter break, key points to note are:
Ø Travel declaration to be filled
Ø A PCR test is required either at Dubai or within the Emirate of Dubai, from an approved DHA centre
Ø Test results can take up to 48 hours to be received, please consider this when planning your return date
Ø PCR results should be within the 48 hour validity period at the time of returning to school
Ø Children under 12 do not need a PCR test, however, if you wish your child to return to school after travel, they either need to complete 14 days quarantine at home or show a negative PCR test to resume in learning in school

We look forward to a fantastic and fruitful academic year with high standards of Health and Safety. One of the key points that we need to secure about is that we are, at all times, updated about any COVID-19 related health concerns/developments in students or their families. For this purpose, we have created a dedicated email ID to gather all important information related to this.
We request you to please send any COVID-19 updates to staysafe_gns@gemsedu.com immediately. This email account will be regularly and frequently monitored and actioned by our Health and Safety Officer, Mrs. Pauline Bruce as well as our School Doctor, Dr. Amira.

لقد تم في العام الدراسي الماضي إطلاق برنامج "نجوم جيمس في حسن معاملة الآخرين"، الذي يهدف إلى الإشادة بالطلبة الذين يتحلون بسلوكيات تمثل قيم الاحترام والإحسان للآخرين. كما تكمن أهمية هذا البرنامج في التأكيد على ضرورة تعليم هذه القيم للطلبة ليصبحوا مواطنين عالميين صالحين.
At the end of last year, we launched the GEMS Jewels of Kindness program which seeks to exemplify students exhibiting core values including compassion, kindness, respect, helpfulness and empathy.
The aim of this program is to emphasize the importance of values education to help our children become better world citizens.
