بدايةً، نتقدم إليكم بجزيل الشكر وعميق الامتنان لما تظهروه من حسن تعاون، ومرونة عالية، وقدرة هائلة على تخطي الصّعاب التي فُرضت علينا منذ بداية الفصل الدّراسي الثاني.
وقد أسرنا عودة طلابنا إلى المدرسة في نهاية هذا الأسبوع، حيث انضم طلاب المراحل التأسيسية وطلاب السنتين الأولى والثانية إلينا في رحاب المدرسة لاعتماد نظام التعلم الحضوري برفقة أصدقائهم ومعلميهم. وقد عمل فريق المدرسة الخاص بنا دون كلل أو ملل لفرض المزيد من التدابير الاحترازية بشأن الصحة والسلامة استعداداً لعودة كافة الطلاب إلى المدرسة. وعليه، فإننا سنلتزم تمام الالتزام بكافة التوجيهات التنظيمية بينما نتابع عن كثب صدور التوجيهات المُحدّثة عن الجهات المختصة.
ولقد شهدنا هذا الأسبوع إطلاق جسر إنفنيتي (اللانهاية) في إمارة دبي والذي يعد تحفة هندسية وفنية ومعمارية عالمية جديدة ورمز بارز لطموحات الدولة التي لا نهاية لها. وإنه ليتملكنا الفخر برؤية طلابنا وهم يحرصون أشد الحرص على الالتزام بتحقيق التميز الأكاديمي وعكس القيم المدرسية الخاصة بنا والتي تحث على التحلي بالطموح والسعي نحو الابتكار. وريثما نستعد لعودة طلابنا إلى رحاب المدرسة، اسمحوا لنا أن ننتهز هذه الفرصة لنذكِّر طلابنا وأولياء الأمور بضرورة الالتزام بأعلى معايير الحضور وارتداء الزي الرسمي والتقيد بقواعد السّلوك الحسن، لاسيما طلاب السنوات 10-13 الذين سيخضعون لاختبارات الشّهادة الدّولية العامة للتّعليم الثّانوي واختبارات شهادة المستوى المتقدم ابتداءً من الأسبوع القادم.
ومن جهة أخرى، يسرنا الإعلان عن زيارة هيئة Which School Advisor لمجتمعنا المدرسي في شهر أكتوبر المنصرم والتي لاقت استحساناً واسعاً من الهيئة لما لاحظوه من تطبيقٍ دقيق لمعايير تعليمية رفيعة الجودة ولغرسنا قيم سامية في المنظومة التعليمية والأخلاقية الخاصة بمدرستنا. وقد جرى نشر تقرير حول تغذيتهم الراجعة في هذا الصدد، وسيتم إدراج مقتطفات من التقرير في النشرة الأسبوعية لهذا الأسبوع.
وإننا نتطلع لاستئناف نشاطنا الدّراسي في رحاب مدرستنا والتّرحيب بطلبتنا على مقاعد الدراسة يوم الإثنين لنشق طريقنا نحو النجوم ضمن بيئة تعليمية جاذبة ولنبذل ما في وسعنا للحفاظ على مجتمع مدرسي سالم وآمن ومعافى.
As always, I would like to start by expressing my most sincere appreciation for the remarkable support, patience and flexibility shown by our respected parents as we have navigated the start of Term 2 together.
We have been delighted to start welcoming our students back this week as our learners in FS1 to Year 2 have returned for face-to-face teaching with their friends and teachers. Our team has made a tireless effort to put additional health and safety measures in place as we prepare for onsite learning for all year groups next week. All regulations will be adhered to strictly as we continue to follow the updated guidance from the relevant authorities.
This week we have seen the launch of The Infinity Bridge in Dubai, an engineering and artistic masterpiece and a symbol of innovation and endless ambition. We are very proud of the commitment that our students demonstrate to academic excellence and these same values of innovation and ambition. As we prepare to have all of our learners back onsite, we take the opportunity to remind all students and parents of the importance of maintaining the highest standards of punctuality, attendance, uniform and behaviour. This dedication will be especially important for students in Years 10 -13 next week who will sit their IGCSE and A Level mock examinations.
I am delighted that Which School Advisor, following their visit to our school in October 2021, observed our values and standards in action and have subsequently published an extremely positive report about their experience. We have included some extracts in this newsletter below.
We are greatly looking forward to welcoming all students back to school on Monday as we join together to thrive educationally in our stimulating learning environment and play our part in keeping our community safe.

الاختبارات التجريبية لطلاب السنوات 10-13: من المقرر أن تبدأ فترة الاختبارات التجريبية للشهادة العامة الدولية للتعليم الثانوي وشهادة المستوى المتقدم لطلاب السنتين 11-13 اعتباراً من الأسبوع المقبل، على أن تنتهي في 31 من يناير. وسيخضع طلاب السنة العاشرة للاختبارات التجريبية في كل من مواد اللغة الإنجليزية والرياضيات والعلوم ابتداءً من 24 يناير ولغاية 31 يناير.
ساعات الدوام الدراسي الجديد: تماشياً مع مقترحات أولياء الأمور المقدمة فقد تقرر إنفاذ النظام الجديد والذي سيكون أربعة أيام عمل ونصف يوم عمل أسبوعياً دون إجراء أي تغيير على ساعات الدراسة خلال الأيام الأربع الأولى من الأسبوع (الإثنين- الخميس) وحضور الطلاب إلى المدرسة يوم الجمعة لتلقي الدروس المنهجية المقررة، على أن ينتهي الدوام الدراسي لطلاب المرحلة الابتدائية في تمام الساعة 11:00 ص بينما ينقضي اليوم الدراسي لطلاب الثانوية في تمام الساعة 11:30 ص. لمزيد من المعلومات يرجى الضغط على هذا الرابط.
برنامج التعلم عن بعد الاختياري لأيام الجمعة لطلاب السنوات (1-9): اعتمدت هيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية قراراً بتوفير خاصية اختيار التعلم عن بعد وذلك أيام الجمعة لطلاب السنوات 1-9 والذين يتعذّر على ذويهم اصطحابهم من المدرسة أو إليها أيام الجمعة فقط. إذا كنت ترغب في اختيار خيار يوم الجمعة ، يرجى الضغط على هذا الرابط لمزيد من التفاصيل وكيفية التسجيل. لاحظ أن الموعد النهائي سيكون يوم الاثنين 17 يناير الساعة 9:00 صباحًا.

Onsite Learning: We are excited return to onsite learning for all students on Monday 17th January. Please find further information regarding the KHDA Protocols that we will continue to implement link. The school canteen services will not be in operation for the remainder of January and so you are requested to send your child/ren to school with ample snacks, food and water for their day. Additionally, further safety measures include placing school trips, ECAs, gatherings, assemblies, group activities on hold. A new measure for the remainder of January is to place PE lessons on hold also.
Attendance: Good attendance is the foundation for academic achievement and underpins all aspects of personal development. The support of parents in encouraging full attendance is valued greatly.
Uniform: With all of our students returning on Monday, it is important that students return wearing the correct uniform. Please can parents kindly ensure that your child arrives to school wearing full school uniform.
Year 10-13 Mock Examinations: Mock examinations for all IGCSE and IAL subjects will start next week for years 11-13 and will finish the week commencing 31st January. Year 10 students will take mock examinations in English, Maths and Science and these will start week commencing 24th January and finish week commencing 31st January.
New School Week: In line with parental feedback, we have implemented a 4.5 day week with no changes being made to the times of the day on the first 4 days of the week (now Monday-Thursday) and with students attending lessons at school on Friday, finishing at the earlier times of 11.00am for primary students and 11.30am for secondary students. Optional RLP Friday (Years 1-9): The KHDA have approved an optional, student-paced remote learning provision on Friday for students in Years 1-9 for families who are not able to manage drop-off and pick-up of students on Friday. If you would like to choose this Friday option, please find this link for more details and how to register. Note that the deadline will be on Monday, 17th January at 9:00am.

Vice-Principal تألق طلابنا هذا الأسبوع في كافة مجالات المنهج الدراسي رغم تحديات التعلم عن بعد التي واجهتهم بين الحين والآخر. بدايةً، فقد تناولنا أهمية التركيز على التربية البدنية وتطرقنا إلى الحيثيات التي اعتمدتها مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية لدمج منهج التربية البدنية في المنهج الدراسي أثناء فترة اعتماد نظام التعلم عن بعد.
ولأننا ندرك تمام الإدراك مدى أهمية النشاط البدني والذي يعزز بدوره صحة الدماغ ويساعد في عملية التركيز، فقد عمل قسم التربية البدنية في مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية على قدم وساق لتوفير فرص القيام بالكثير من الحركة والأنشطة أثناء فترة التعلم عن بعد.
إذ عمل طلابنا في المرحلتين الأساسية والابتدائية على إتمام أنشطة الاستيقاظ والتمايل لإعداد عقولهم وأجسادهم لعملية تعلم فاعلة. كما شاركوا في أنشطة رياضية عبر الانترنت كأنشطة الجري والقفز والرمي، ونأمل بأن نتمكن من إعداد طلابنا لليوم المخصص للأنشطة البدنية على أكمل وجه لدى عودتنا إلى المدرسة.
أما بالنسبة لطلاب المرحلة الثانوية، فقد عملوا على صقل مهاراتهم الرياضية في لعبة كرة الشبكة وكرة القدم، كما عملوا على تحليل بعض الأحداث الرياضية المختلفة أثناء استعداداتهم للعودة إلى المدرسة.
ولا يسعنا سوى أن نثني على أدائهم المتألق إذ إنهم أحسنوا صنعاً!
The students this week have once again been amazing, working on all areas of the curriculum, whilst learning from home.
This week we will be focusing on our Physical Education and how GNS have adapted the PE curriculum to support the students whilst working online.
We know that being physically active helps with brain health and cognition whist also increasing our concentration and attention. Our GNS PE department have worked very hard to ensure that our students have opportunities to move and be active during our time of remote learning.
In FS and Primary, students have been completing daily wake and shake activities to get their body and mind ready for the day’s learning, whilst also taking part in online athletics lessons including running, throwing and jumping activities as we hope to start preparing students for sports day upon return to onsite learning.
In Secondary, students have been recapping their skills from previous units with netball and football tasks, whilst also completing some analyis on different athletic events as they prepare to return to take part in athletics during their onsite PE lessons this term.

Head of FS/Primary Girls اختتمنا أسبوعنا الثاني في الفصل الدراسي الثاني بعودة طلابنا إلى مقاعد المدرسة يومي الخميس والجمعة. وقد أظهروا قدرة عالية على التكيف والتأقلم أثناء انتقالهم من نظام التعلم عن بعد إلى نظام التعلم الحضوري. فضلاً عن ذلك، أظهر طلاب السنة التأسيسية الأولى الكثير من الحماس والتشوق لتعلم مواضيع جديدة حول ما يمكن لأجسادهم وحواسهم القيام به من جري وقفز وتذوق وسمع ومشاهدة. أما بالنسبة لطلاب المرحلة التأسيسية الثانية فقد سبروا أغوار وجدانهم وتعرفوا إلى كيفية معرفة ما يشعرون به من مشاعر مختلفة.
وأخيراً، لا يسعنا سوى أن تمنى لكم قضاء عطلة ممتعة برفقة عائلاتكم وأصدقائكم.
FS have had a fantastic week rounded off so beautifully by seeing so many faces back at school on Thursday and Friday. We continue to be so impressed by each child’s resilience as they move from online back into class, your children are amazing! FS are very excited to be starting their new topics. In FS1 the children are going to be learning about all the amazing things their bodies can do – such as running, jumping, tasting, seeing and hearing. In FS2 they are going to be thinking about their emotions and how they feel, a lovely wellbeing topic. Have a wonderful weekend with your families.

انتهى الأسبوع الثاني من الفصل الدراسي الثاني بتعليم طلاب المراحل الابتدائية وحدات دراسية جديدة تناولت استخدام مفردات جديدة تتعلق بالموضوع الدراسي الذي جرى طرحه خلال الحصص التدريسية. وكان رائعاً رؤية طلابنا يظهرون تفاعلاً رائعاً ويقدمون أداءً مبهراً أثناء تعلمهم عن بعد. وكالعادة، تأتي مهمة صقل مهارة القراءة على رأس أولوياتنا لذا فقد حرصنا على إطلاق مسابقة صواريخ القراءة بقيادة السيدة ريز لحث طلابنا على الانغماس بعالم القراءة أكثر فأكثر.
أما بالنسبة لأبرز أحداث الأسبوع فقد تجسدت بعودة طلاب المرحلة التأسيسية وطلاب المرحلة الابتدائية إلى مقاعد المدرسة لاعتماد التعلم الحضوري يوم الخميس الموافق 13 يناير، ونتطلع لعودة طلاب المرحلة الثانوية إلى المدرسة يوم الإثنين الموافق 17 يناير.
Our second week of Term 2 has concluded the introduction of new units for our Year groups, who are now starting to use key vocabulary linked to their topic during their discussions. It has been wonderful to join classes remotely this week and see students engaging with their class texts. Reading is a priority skill for all students and we know that Ms Riz’s Reading Rockets competition which launched this week will help encourage students to read frequently. A key highlight of this week was welcoming our Year 1 and Year 2 students back to onsite on Thursday and we are very excited to welcome all of our Primary phase back on Monday 17th.

أظهر طلابنا انسجاماً رائعاً وتألقاً مبهراً في أدائهم عبر التعلم عن بعد للأسبوع الثاني على التوالي، كما حرصوا على الالتزام بتسليم مهامهم في مواعيدها. وقد خضع طلاب السنة 12 والسنة 13 لاختبارات الشهادة الدولية العامة من التعليم الثانوي وشهادة المستوى المتقدم في كل من مواد الرياضيات والإحياء الكيمياء. فضلاً عن ذلك، سبر طلاب السنة 9 أغوار مسببات الحرب العالمية الأولى وتعلم طلاب السنة 8 عن عميلة التنفس وبنية الرئتين ووظيفتها.

Students have engaged tremendously well with the second week of remote learning and its pleasing to see such excellent work being submitted by students. This week we have seen our year 12 and 13 students complete their examination for modules within their International A’ Level courses for Maths, Biology and Chemistry. Our year 9 students have been studying the causes of the 1st World War in History and our year 8 students in Science have been learning about Breathing and Respiration with a focus on looking at the structure and function of the lungs.
Our mock exam series will start next week, Monday 17th January, and the timetable has been shared with parents through email and with students on Microsoft Teams. These are also shared below:

من المقرر أن يقيم السيد سيام رئيس قسم العلوم ورشة عمل مخصصة لأولياء أمور طلاب السنوات 7-13 يوم الإثنين الموافق 17 يناير في تمام الساعة 10:30 ص. وتهدف هذه الورشة إلى تزويد أولياء الأمور بمعلومات حول ما يتم تغطيته في منهج العلوم للمرحلة الثانوية.

Mr. Siam the head of Science will be running a parental workshop for parents of students in Year 7 -13 on Monday 17th January at 10:30 am.
The aim of the workshop is to give parents a greater understanding of what is covered within the curriculum for Secondary Science.

Post -16 Focus
في ظل هذه الظروف الاستثنائية والتي تكتنفها الكثير من التغييرات، أظهر طلابنا قدرة عالية على الصمود والتأقلم مع متغيرات الأحداث وقد تملكنا الفخر لرؤية مرونتهم في التعامل مع التحديات التي تعترضهم بين الحين والآخر. وقد شهد هذا الأسبوع خضوع الطلاب لاختبارات الشهادة العامة الدولية للتعليم الثانوي في بعض المواد وذهلنا لرؤية حماسهم وتفانيهم لتحقيق أهدافهم المنشودة، حيث حرصوا على حضور الحصص التدريبية مع معلميهم وبذلوا ما في وسعهم لتحقيق أفضل النتائج في الاختبارات.
ونحن على يقين، بأن طلابنا لن يتوانوا عن مواصلة عملهم الدؤوب حتى حين اعتمادنا لنظام التعلم الحضوري ابتداءً من الأسبوع المقبل، وسوف يواظبون على حضور الحصص التدريبية بشكل منتظم. علاوة على ذلك، يستعد طلاب السنة 13 للخضوع إلى اختبارات الإمارات القياسية ويعملون عن كثب مع السيدة باولا لتلبية احتياجاتهم في كل ما يختص بطلبات الالتحاق في الجامعة.
ونتطلع لمعرفة ما ينتظرنا في الفصل الدراسي الثاني من أحداث وفعاليات.
Despite the uncertain times we find ourselves in this New Year we are so impressed with our Post 16 students. They’ve demonstrated resilience, agility and determination once again; we are so proud of them.
This week has seen our students taking external exams in a number of subjects. They have really impressed us with their enthusiasm and dedication to their studies. They have attended revision sessions with their teachers and all really tried their best in the exam.
As we move to a full return next week students will continue to work hard in lessons, attend revision and intervention sessions. Year 13 will be preparing for their EMSATs and working with Ms Paola to ensure they have all they need for their university applications.
We are excited to see what Term 2 brings for this fabulous groups of students!

دائما ما يتساءل أولياء الأمور عن كيفية تعليم أطفالهم الكتابة، متى وكيف نبدأ؟ ما الطريقة؟ ندعوكم لاكتشاف أسرار عالم الكتابة وكيفية تدريسها للأطفال في المرحلة الابتدائية، من خلال ورشة العمل التي سيقدمها قسم اللغة العربية والتي ستسلط الضوء على مراحل الكتابة المختلفة وبعض الاستراتيجيات التي تساعد أولياء الأمور على الأخذ بيد أطفالهم ومساعدتهم على إعمال خيالهم والبدء بتعلم الكتابة.
في انتظاركم يوم الإثنين القادم 17 من يناير 2022 في تمام الساعة 11:30صباحاً.
Parents often wonder how to walk children through the process of writing, when to start and how?
We, therefore, invite you to join us in delving into the world of writing and learn how to teach children to write at primary level, through a workshop presented by the Arabic language department. The workshop will address the steps of the writing process and the different strategies that help children inch their way along the road.
The workshop will be held on Monday 17th January 2022 at 11:30 am.
ضمن خطتنا المستمرة لتطوير قسم اللغة العربية، ودعماً لمركز التّميز الذي تحتضنه مدرستنا لخدمة اللغة العربية، شهد قسم اللغة العربية نشاطاً ملحوظاً، حيث حضر معلمو ومعلمات المرحلة الابتدائية ورشة عمل حول التّعلم عن بعد، وكيفية التّخطيط لحصة إلكترونية فاعلة، وتسليم القيادة للطلبة ليكونوا مسؤولين عن تعلمهم مع توفير فرص وتحديات أكثر لهم. قدمها المستشار التربوي والمدرب الدولي علي عز الدين. حيث تضمنت ورشة العمل العديد من الأنشطة التفاعلية التي أضفت جواً من المتعة والإفادة، كما قام المدرب بعرض بعض الاستراتيجيات لجعل حصص التعلم عن بعد تفاعلية ومباشرة أكثر ليطبقها المعلمون أثناء حصصهم.
The Arabic Language Department witnessed a remarkable event, as part of the ongoing plan to develop the Arabic Language Department. The primary school teachers attended a workshop on distance learning, planning an online class, and handing over leadership to students to be responsible for their learning process whilst being provided with more opportunities and challenges. The workshop was presented by Ali Ezz El-Din, a pedagogical coach, and encompassed several interactive activities in a light-hearted atmosphere. The coach also touched upon some strategies that, when adopted, make distance learning more appealing and interactive.

بدايةً، يسعدنا أن نثني على جهود طالبي السنة 13 أحمد بخيت المزروعي وأحمد حمد المزروعي لمشاركتهم في فعالية يوم التضامن التي نظمها جناح إكسبو إيطاليا خلال العطلة الشتوية. وقد عمل الطالبان مع مجموعات طلابية مختلفة تنحدر من إيطاليا ومن مدارس أخرى من دولة الإمارات لمناقشة موضوعات التعاون الدولي والتنمية المستدامة. كما شاركوا رؤيتهم عن ميثاق الشباب من أجل التضامن الدولي. فنعم التجربة تجربتهم!
Expo News
Well done to our senior Year 13 students, Ahmad Bakhit Almazrouei and Ahmad Hamad Almazrooei for taking part in the Solidarity Day Event organised by Expo Italy Pavilion during the winter break. The students worked with different groups from Italy and other schools from the UAE to debate on international cooperation and sustainable developments topics and also shared their vision of a Youth Charter for the international solidarity. The boys had a great experience.

The Moon Camp Challenge
The Moon Camp Challenge is a yearly competition jointly run by the Airbus Foundation in partnership with Autodesk, and the European Space Agency.
Students can take part in three different categories below.

بينما نستعد للترحيب بطلابنا مرة أخرى في رحاب المدرسة، نود طمأنة مجتمعنا المدرسي بأننا بذلنا ما في وسعنا لوضع المزيد من التدابير الاحترازية لضمان عودة آمنة إلى المدرسة، فقد تم تعقيم كافة الفصول الدراسية ودورات المياه وغرفة الصلاة والمواد التعليمية وكافة المرافق الأخرى بشكل مكثف وعميق من أجل سلامة طلابنا وموظفينا. كما جرى دراسة مستوى التباعد في جميع الفصول الدراسية لضمان وجود التباعد الاجتماعي على النحو اللازم وتم إطلاع جميع الموظفين بالتدابير الاحترازية التي يجب اتباعها بشكل صارم.
وعليه، فإننا نلتزم أتم الالتزام باتباع الإرشادات الصادرة عن هيئة الصحة بدبي وهيئة المعرفة والتنمية البشرية ومتابعة مستجدات الأمور حول هذا الصدد عن كثب وسنواصل في تعليق الرحلات المدرسية و الأنشطة اللامنهجية والطابور والتجمعات والأنشطة الجماعية. وقد تم إصدار تدابير جديدة بتعليق دروس التربية البدنية أيضًا للفترة المتبقية من شهر يناير.
كما ستبقى خدمات المقصف المدرسي معلقة للفترة المتبقية من شهر يناير، لذا يرجى إرسال الوجبات الخفيفة ووجبات الغداء وقارورة المياه على النحو الذي يكفي حاجة الطالب.
ماذا أفعل في حال كان طفلي مخالطاُ لحالة إيجابية؟

ونسخ عنوان البريد الالكتروني الخاص بمعلم الفصل في البريد المُرسل. كما يرجى إبقاء الطفل في المنزل لمدة 7 أيام في الحجر الصحي ابتداءً من اليوم التالي لآخر تاريخ اختلاط بالحالة مع مراقبة تطور الحالة الصحية للطفل. في حال عدم ظهور أي أعراض، يمكن للطفل الانضمام إلى المدرسة بعد انقضاء فترة الحجر الصحي ويتعين عليه زيارة عيادة المدرسة للحصول على تصريح العودة إلى الفصل
ماذا أفعل إذا كانت نتيجة اختبار طفلي لـ COVID-19 إيجابية؟
يرجى إعلام المدرسة عن طريق إرسال بريد إلكتروني إلى staysafe_gns@gemsedu.com ونسخ عنوان البريد الإلكتروني الخاص بمعلم الفصل لإخطاره بإصابة الطالب. كما يرجى إبقاء الطفل في المنزل لمدة لا تزيد عن 10 أيام في العزل الصحي بدءًا من تاريخ الحصول على نتيجة الاختبار. ما إن يتم الطفل لفترة العزل الصحي، يرجى إصدار شهادة استكمال العزل الصحي من هيئة الصحة بدبي كي يتمكن من العودة إلى المدرسة، كما يتيعن على الطالب زيارة عيادة المدرسة للحصول على تصريح العودة إلى الفصل.
نعتمد في مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية سياسة "البقاء في المنزل إذا كنت مريضًا" وفقًا لإرشادات الجهات المختصة. تنطبق هذه السياسة على جميع الطلاب والموظفين وأولياء الأمور وتهدف إلى تقديم الدعم اللازم إذا ما دعت الحاجة لذلك. في حال شعور الطفل بالتوعك، يرجى التأكد من اتباع إجراءات مدرستنا والاتصال بمعلم الفصل وتقديم أكبر قدر ممكن من المعلومات.

As we gear up to welcome our students back onsite, we would like to reassure the GNS community of the extended effort that has taken place this week to ensure a safe return to onsite learning. Every classroom, washroom, prayer room and other space has been deeply sanitised for the safety of our students and staff. This includes learning materials for our students. All classrooms have been assessed to ensure social distancing is in place and all staff members have been briefed on COVID-19 safety and controls.
We follow the guidelines from DHS and KHDA very closely and as such, we will continue to place school trips, ECAs, gatherings, assemblies, group activities on hold. A new measure for the remainder of January is to place PE lessons on hold also.
The school canteen services will not be in operation for the remainder of January and so you are requested to send your child/ren to school with ample snacks, food and water for their day.
What do I do if my child is considered a ‘CLOSE CONTACT’ of a positive COVID-19 case?
Please inform school by emailing staysafe_gns@gemsedu.com and copying your child’s class / form teacher. Keep your child at home for a period of 7 days quarantine starting the day after the last date of contact and monitor them. So long as your child remains symptom free they may rejoin after their quarantine period, passing by our clinic for a clearance to return to class.
What do I do if my child tests positive for COVID-19?
Please inform school by emailing staysafe_gns@gemsedu.com and copying your child’s class / form teacher. Keep your child at home for a period of 10 days isolation starting the day of the test. Once your child completed their isolation period, please secure a de-isolation certificate from the DHA for them to rejoin school. Your child will need to pass by our clinic for a clearance to return to class.
At GNS we have a ‘Stay at Home if you are Unwell’ policy as directed by the authorities. This policy applies to all students, staff and parents and is there to support us as we navigate our way through Covid-19. If your child feels unwell, please ensure you follow our school procedures, contacting your child’s class teacher and providing as much information as possible.

أعمال الطرق وإدارة المرور
تعمل هيئة الطرق والمواصلات على إحداث تغييرات على الطرق أمام المدرسة وخلفها لتسهيل حركة المرور في المنطقة المحلية. ومع شروع الهيئة بمراحل مختلفة من العمل فقد يكون ثمة اضطراب مؤقت في خطط إدارة حركة المرور لبعض الوقت. يردى العلم بـأنه لا يمكن الوصول إلى الجزء الخلفي من المدرسة لركن المركبة بغرض اصطحاب الطلبة أو لتوصيلهم. لذا يرجى من أولياء الأمور استخدام البوابة الأمامية رقم 2 للدخول عبرها ويمكن الخروج من المدرسة عبر البوابة الخلفية رقم4 . وسنبقي أولياء الأمور على اطلاع دائم بمستجدات هذا الشأن إذ أننا نعمل عن كثب مع الكيانات ذات الصلة لتحسين تجربة الطلاب وأولياء الأمور والموظفين في مدرسة جيمس البرشاء الوطنية.
Operations - Traffic Management
The Road and Transport Agency are undertaking considerable work to the roads in front of and behind our school to improve the flow of traffic in the local area. As different stages of work are started, there may be temporary disruption to our traffic management plans. At present, the area at the rear of our school is not accessible to park for pick up or drop off, all families are requested to enter school from the front, gate 2. You may still exit school through gate 4 at the rear. We will keep parents updated as we work closely with the relevant entities to improve the experience of our students, parents and staff members.

At the end of last year, we launched the GEMS Jewels of Kindness program which seeks to exemplify students exhibiting core values including compassion, kindness, respect, helpfulness and empathy.
The aim of this program is to emphasize the importance of values education to help our children become better world citizens.

وتفصيلاً، تعمل منصة العضوية بالشراكة مع برنامج Advantage Plus (adv +) أحد أبرز منصات عضوية نمط الحياة الرائدة في الإمارات العربية المتحدة والتي تهدف إلى جعل وجهات الترفيه واللياقة البدنية في متناول شبكة مدرسة جيمس من العائلات والموظفين.
