The following are the hair and make-up details for Picture Day, Dress Rehearsal, and Recital
HAIR - ALL DANCERS:
CENTER PART LOW PONYTAIL HOW-TO VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck0BCcVWyPo
We strongly recommend using a comb with tail for parting hair, toothbrush or smoothing brush, hair brush, hair tie/elastic, water, gel and hairspray.
Please use a hair tie/elastic that matches your dancers hair color. NO SCRUNCHIES ALLOWED. Using your dancers hair accessory that came with their costume is permitted in addition to their ponytail for easy quick changes.
No bangs unless they are above your child's eyebrows. Any long/side bangs must be slicked back and secured.
HAIR - ALL BALLET DANCERS:
CENTER PART LOW PONYTAIL SOCK BUN HOW-TO VIDEO: https://youtu.be/k5n_Z_3y2F4?t=120
Start video at the 2:00 minute mark!
We strongly recommend using a sock or sock bun sponge, having an additional hair tie/elastic, and using open hair pins or bobby pins for a secure hold of the sock bun to your dancers head and ponytail.
If your dancers hair is incredibly short, we suggest using a hair net as well.
Sock buns can be created by cutting the toe off of a long sock, or you can purchase a sock bun sponge. They come in multiple colors to match your dancers hair and multiple sizes for different lengths of hair.
Please let us know if you need hands on help to learn how to roll a sock bun. We have an abundance of parents and dancers who do this hair style regularly and are always willing to lend a hand!
