GMX referral code: PRO Open the referral link, connect a wallet and place an order to get a 10% discount on position fees. T&Cs apply.
GMX referral code PRO gives a 10% discount on the position fee for leverage trading on GMX V2, the decentralised perpetuals and spot exchange on Arbitrum and Avalanche. There is no sign-up form, no email field and no account. Open the referral link, connect a wallet and place the first order, and GMX writes the code to the trading contract at that moment. Opening the link redirects to app.gmx.io/trade/ and stores the code PRO in the browser, as GMX's docs describe. A trader who already has an open position can still add PRO by hand, on the Referrals page under the Trader Benefits tab, before the next order. The discount then applies from that order onward, not to trades placed earlier. We checked docs.gmx.io/docs/referrals on 22 September 2026.
Code: PRO. Codes are case sensitive, so the letters must stay upper case.
What it does: Gives a 10% discount on the position fee for leverage trading
Where to enter: Through the referral link, or by hand on the Referrals page, Trader Benefits tab, at app.gmx.io/referrals/traders
Welcome offer: None. GMX shows the current figure on its own page.
Fee discount: 10% off the position fee: 0.036% instead of 0.04%, and 0.054% instead of 0.06%
Minimum deposit: Not documented. GMX does not custody funds, so there is no deposit into an account
Operator or licence: A non-custodial protocol. Referral terms are set by GMX token holders and published at gmx.io/#/referral-terms
Availability: GMX V2 on Arbitrum and Avalanche. The interface is restricted in some jurisdictions under GMX's own terms
Register link: Referral link
Two details in this table need a closer look. First, GMX treats Arbitrum and Avalanche as separate networks for referral purposes, so the code has to be attached once per network rather than once per wallet. Second, GMX does not run a central account system, so terms such as minimum deposit and welcome offer do not map onto GMX the way they map onto a custodial exchange. Where the facts we checked are silent, this guide says so plainly instead of guessing.
GMX does not use a sign-up flow, so the steps below describe a wallet connection and a first order rather than an account creation process. GMX's own Trader Benefits tab lays the process out in three steps: Connect wallet, Enter referral code, Start trading. The steps below expand each one.
Open the referral link in a browser with a wallet ready to connect.
Connect the wallet on the network to trade on, Arbitrum or Avalanche. GMX treats the two networks separately for the referral code.
Choose a market, then set the position size and the leverage for the trade.
Place the first order. GMX writes code PRO to the ReferralStorage contract at this point. This is the step people miss: a wallet with orders already in its history needs the manual step on the Referrals page instead of the link.
Open the Referrals page, Trader Benefits tab, at app.gmx.io/referrals/traders, and confirm the active code shows PRO for the wallet.
Look for the message in the app that confirms the wallet is receiving a 10% discount.
Repeat the connection step on the other network if trading on both Arbitrum and Avalanche. The code binds separately on each one.
Two things decide whether the discount applies. The wallet must hold code PRO on the network used, and the order must be new rather than a repeat of an order placed before the code was recorded. Neither condition depends on a form field, since GMX reads the code from the link or from the manual entry on the Referrals page.
Code PRO gives a 10% discount on the position fee. The discount applies when opening, closing, increasing or partially decreasing a leveraged position.
GMX deducts the discount automatically at execution. There is nothing to claim, and there is no separate rewards balance to withdraw.
PRO is a Tier 3 code. GMX's tier table gives Tier 1 codes a 5% trader discount, and Tier 2 and Tier 3 codes a 10% trader discount. GMX assigns the tier to the code itself, not to the individual trader, so every trader who uses PRO receives the same 10% rate.
GMX verified the PRO code on chain on 30 July 2026. The app showed the discount message on 5 July 2026, confirming that the on-chain tier and the interface agree.
Tier 3 codes such as PRO also pay the referrer a 15% affiliate reward on the fees a referred trader generates. That reward is separate from the trader's own discount and does not change what the trader pays at execution.
Code PRO does not add a welcome bonus. GMX's docs list only the position fee discount for this code, with no separate deposit match or sign-up reward.
Code PRO does not reduce borrow fees, funding fees or swap fees. Those costs stay the same with or without a code, and they run independently of the position fee.
Pages we read on 22 September 2026 describe wider discounts, or add a cash reward on top of the fee cut. GMX's own docs do not support those broader claims, and this guide only repeats what the docs and the on-chain record confirm.
The discount does not reach back to orders placed before the code was recorded on chain. It also does not raise the trader's tier automatically toward the organic VIP thresholds, which are tracked separately from any code.
GMX charges a position fee on every leveraged trade. The base rate is 0.04% of the position size when the trade reduces the imbalance between long and short open interest on that market. The rate is 0.06% when the trade increases that imbalance.
Code PRO cuts both rates by 10%. That gives 0.036% instead of 0.04%, and 0.054% instead of 0.06%.
The table below uses the position sizes we are allowed to quote.
$10,000 at 0.06%: Fee without a code: $6 · Fee with PRO: $5.40 · Amount saved: $0.60
$10,000 at 0.04%: Fee without a code: $4 · Fee with PRO: $3.60 · Amount saved: $0.40
$100,000 at 0.06%: Fee without a code: $60 · Fee with PRO: $54 · Amount saved: $6
The saving scales with position size, since the discount is a fixed 10% of the position fee rather than a flat amount. The discount applies only to the position fee. Borrow fees, funding fees and swap fees stay the same with or without a code, so the total cost of a trade still depends on how long a position stays open.
A trader does not stay on a referral code forever. GMX moves a trader off code PRO after 12 months on the code, or once the code generates $20,000 in affiliate rewards for the referrer, whichever comes first.
After that point, GMX places Tier 2 and Tier 3 traders on a protocol code called DIRECT_GMX_DISCOUNT_10. That protocol code keeps the same 10% trader discount, so the trader's cost per trade does not change at graduation.
What does change is the affiliate reward. Once a trader graduates, the referrer tied to code PRO stops receiving a reward from that trader's activity. The trader's own discount is unaffected.
Welcome offer: With code PRO: Not documented · Without a code: Not documented
Fee discount: With code PRO: 10% off the position fee · Without a code: No discount on the position fee
Can be added later: With code PRO: Yes, on the Referrals page before the next order · Without a code: Not applicable
Cost to you: With code PRO: None. GMX pays the affiliate reward out of its own share · Without a code: None. The standard position fee applies
VIP or tier stacking: With code PRO: Discount continues after graduation, through a protocol code · Without a code: Only the organic VIP thresholds apply, a 5% discount at $50,000,000 lifetime volume and 10% at $250,000,000
The practical difference sits mostly in the first few months. A trader who never adds a code pays the full position fee on every trade, unless that trader's own lifetime volume on Arbitrum clears $50,000,000 or $250,000,000. A trader who adds PRO gets the 10% rate from the first qualifying order, with no volume threshold to clear.
GMX V2 is a non-custodial exchange. Funds stay in the trader's own wallet, and GMX never takes custody of them.
The referral programme terms are set by GMX token holders and published at gmx.io/#/referral-terms, rather than by a private company board.
GMX's interface is restricted in some jurisdictions under its own terms. The source we read does not list which countries, so a trader should check GMX's own terms page for the current position.
There is no company licence to check, because GMX runs as a protocol rather than a custodial broker with a head office and a regulator.
GMX does not hold trader funds. A trader connects a wallet, and that wallet holds the collateral for every position from open to close.
There is no email, and no identity check, to open a position.
Closing a position sends the funds back to the same connected wallet, with no separate withdrawal request to submit.
Position fees, borrow fees and funding fees are separate costs. They apply whether or not a trader uses a code, and none of them are waived by adding PRO.
The facts we checked do not describe a separate GMX mobile app.
GMX's interface is a website, reached at app.gmx.io. The referral link and the Referrals page work the same way in a mobile browser connected to a wallet.
Use the same referral link on a phone with a wallet connection ready, and the code records the same way at the first order, on whichever network the trader picks.
The issues below trace back to one common cause: placing an order before the code is attached to the wallet.
Placing an order before opening the referral link. The code cannot record after the fact without the manual step on the Referrals page.
Typing the code in lower case. Codes are case sensitive, so "pro" does not work.
Assuming the code carries over between networks. The code binds separately on Arbitrum and on Avalanche.
Expecting the discount on borrow fees or funding fees. The discount applies only to the position fee.
Skipping the check on the Referrals page. This is the step people miss, and it is the only way to confirm the code is active.
A trader who already placed orders without code PRO can still add it. Open the Referrals page, Trader Benefits tab, and enter PRO there.
The discount starts from the next order. It does not apply to past trades, and GMX does not backdate the saving once the code is attached.
Do not open a second wallet to try to attach the code to old trades. GMX ties the discount to the wallet and the order history, not to a separate account, so a new wallet just starts the same process over again.
Yes. Open the Referrals page, Trader Benefits tab, and enter PRO before the next order. The discount then applies from that order onward.
No. The 10% discount applies only to the position fee, not to borrow fees, funding fees or swap fees. Those costs stay the same with or without a code.
No. GMX's docs list only the position fee discount for this code.
The affiliate link does, after 12 months or $20,000 in affiliate rewards. The discount does not stop. GMX moves the trader to a protocol code that keeps the same 10% rate.
Yes. GMX's own app FAQ answers this directly: "Do I need to enter a code on each network? Yes. If you trade on both Arbitrum and Avalanche, apply a referral code on each network separately." Use the referral link again on the network not yet linked.
No. GMX is non-custodial. Trader funds stay in the trader's own wallet at every step, and GMX never takes control of them.
Open the Referrals page, Trader Benefits tab. GMX shows the active code there, plus a message confirming the discount.
No. GMX applies the referral discount to position fees only. Swap fees, borrow fees and funding fees stay as GMX publishes them.
Leveraged perpetuals can lose the full collateral fast.
Borrow fees and funding fees run while a position stays open, on top of the position fee.
