CHURCHES AROUND THE WORLD
UNITY IN DIVERSITY
UNITY IN DIVERSITY
Roman Catholic Churches, Mainline Protestant, Orthodox and Evangelical Churches united together for fellowship.
Within this multi-denominational association there are important scriptural tenets to unity:
Trinity: One God revealed in three persons
Divinity and Lordship of Jesus Christ
Virgin Birth of Jesus
Death, burial and resurrection of Jesus
Salvation/Atonement through Jesus Christ
Return of Jesus to the earth to rule
The Church
"endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Ephesians 4:3-7)
Unity for Edification:
"the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12-13)
Unity to keep doctrinal purity
"that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ; From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, making increase of the body, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love" (Ephesians 4:15-16)
Unity in diverse Spiritual gifts
"now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit, and there are difference of administrations, but the same Lord. There are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all." (1 Cor. 12:4-6)
One Body, Different Parts
"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free" (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)
"Now there are many members, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, have no need of you, nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you" (1 Cor. 12:20-21)
