Trick-Taking Card Game
$10
About the old riddle involving a farmer, a chicken, a fox, and a bag of corn. Some tricks will not be won by anyone as they could sink. A trick is a river crossing. Cards are chickens, foxes, corn, and farmers. If a river crossing (a trick), has a fox and a chicken in it, it sinks and nobody wins that trick. Same for corn and chickens. Farmers (trumps) save tricks when they are in the river crossing (the trick) as they keep a watchful eye. Must follow game with trumps and bidding. Each player uses their oar to estimate how may tricks they think they can win knowing that about 20% of the trick will sink. There is a bid adjustment mechanism (an escape card) so players don't have to sweat the bidding too much. The card can be used to adjust bids or escape tricks. Captured escape cards may be used by the player that captured them! 1 round per player. 3-5 players, ages 10 and up, 20-30 minutes. Why did the chicken cross the river????
