I'd love to help you master the GMAT, a key step towards pursuing your dream career. We'll use your existing strengths to get a great score and secure admission to a terrific graduate program.
How we'll work together
How much do you charge? As I am trying to expand my business, I'm offering a special rate of $100/hour for a limited time. Shop around on sites like Wyzant, where some tutors charge two, three, or even five times as much. Trust me, it's a great deal!
Where would we meet? I prefer on-line through Skype, FaceTime, or Facebook's video chat. We can also work through Wyzant's platform. Residents of the New York area could also come to my home in Crown Heights after an initial on-line session.
When would we meet? I'm free from 5pm to 9pm Sundays and weeknights, except for Wednesday.
How do I pay you? I accept PayPal and will need payment on the same day as each lesson.
How should I prepare? Start by taking a free practice test from ETS. This will help us identify your areas of strength and other areas where more help would be useful. Don't worry, you get another free practice test from them that you can use later..
About Me
I'm patient and funny. I love the challenge of translating technical issues into 'human.'
In my spare time, I love reading ancient Rabbinic texts, taking walks with my dog, and playing frisbee. I watch too much TV.
I have a Ph.D. in Business Administration from UC Berkeley, a Masters from Princeton, and a Bachelors from Swarthmore College. I've taught writing at Swarthmore, and finance at Berkeley and American University. My undergraduate degree is in psychology, including a focus on education.
A highlight of my career was writing a paper cited by Janet Yellen in her speech at Jackson Hole,. It also got a rave in the Financial Times. See the links below. If you don't know who Janet Yellen is or have ever read the Financial Times, don't worry, we'll still have fun working together.
I blog about data visualization. The link to the site is below.
Other Advice
What else should I do? You'll have to study on your own as well, as practice is so important. See Magoosh for these, it's a great resource
How can I learn more about the GRE? The ETS web site has lots of great information on the test. Please read it. Did you know you can use the GMAT for law school admission as well as MBA programs? See the link below on the ETS web site.
