If you need to report somebody, find the org they are in (look below!!), click the org name, and submit!
If they have multiple orgs next to their name click Multi-Org People!
Welcome to the joint fundraiser, Swear Jar! This fundraiser is to help make fundraisers more fun, starting with "quote sniping" people from across all of the music orgs here at ODU!
Each week of the Month of September there will be a new rule that compounds will the old ones. For example, week one is no swearing, the next week could be no music related terminology in addition to no swear words-- each week will add something new to the previous rule sets.
When you catch somebody breaking the rules, you HAVE to let them know.
Use your best judgment, if someone is having a bad day, let's not make it worse. If you're at your private domicile it is up to you and your house mates if you all allow rule-breaking, once again, use your best judgment.
When you sign up you will be listed under your orgs form; if you say something that breaks the rules, you will add a point under your orgs name.
Scores are scaled by orgs participation size [trust, I have a formula].
The winning organization will be the one with the LEAST amount of points.
People in multiple orgs will be listed under all of the orgs they are a part of. Each violation point will go towards whichever org is in the lead (with the least amount of points) at that moment.
For each quote caught, you have to pay 5 cents (one nickle).
The first place prize is 50% of the profits. The remaining orgs will recieve 16.67% each.
If you want to opt out after signing up, notify me (Glenn Dennison). If you leave you still have to pay the amount you are due (based on the infractions you may/may not have accumulated).
You can start paying me (Glenn Dennison) at the end of the month, 9/30 at 11:59:59. So that I can promptly distribute winnings out to the orgs, PAYMENT IS DUE BY OCTOBER 11th (10/11/26).
FAQ:
Is this mandatory?
- No, participation is optional (but encouraged).
Could this discourage the idea of brotherhood (or any variation of this word)?
- This is merely a friendly competition to benefit our collective organizations. Dont take it too seriously!
Isn’t this just more dues?
- It's 5 cents per infraction, and the more participants the higher the money your org gains.
How do I know who is participating?
- Go through each form to find them, and if you don’t know them then get to know them!
Can people not participating call me out for breaking a rule?
- I would prefer if they would participate fully in the competition but technically anyone can submit rule-breakers.
If you have any questions or want to see something added/changed to the website you can either ask me (Glenn) directly or ask your treasurer to reach out to me.
