Welcome to Gluten Spotter. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application ("the App") handles information.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the information processed while you use the App.

1. Information We Access

Gluten Spotter requires access to the following device features:

• Camera – to capture images of ingredient lists.

• Photo Library – to select existing images for analysis.

All image processing, text recognition, and ingredient analysis are performed entirely on your device.

Images, extracted text, ingredient lists, and analysis results are never uploaded to our servers or to Firebase.

2. Analytics and Crash Reporting

To improve the App's reliability and understand how it is used, Gluten Spotter uses:

• Firebase Analytics

• Firebase Crashlytics

These services automatically collect technical and diagnostic information, which may include:

• App opens and session information

• Device model

• Operating system version

• App version

• Country or region

• Anonymous identifiers used for analytics and diagnostics

• Crash reports and diagnostic information

The App also records a custom analytics event whenever an ingredient list is scanned. This event contains only:

• The detected language of the scanned text

• Whether gluten was detected

• Whether custom ingredient checking was used

This event does not include:

• Images

• Extracted text

• Ingredient lists

• Custom ingredient names

• Personal information

• User-generated content

Analytics and crash reporting data are transmitted securely to Google Firebase when an internet connection is available. If your device is offline, Firebase may temporarily store analytics data locally until it can be transmitted.

3. Health-Related Information

Gluten Spotter helps users determine whether food ingredient lists may contain gluten.

Although this may relate to dietary choices or medical conditions such as celiac disease or gluten intolerance, the App:

• Does not collect health records.

• Does not create health profiles.

• Does not associate scan results with any individual.

• Does not upload scanned ingredient lists or analysis results.

All ingredient analysis remains on your device.

4. How Information Is Used

Images and extracted text are used solely on your device to:

• Detect ingredient lists.

• Analyze ingredients.

• Identify potential gluten-containing ingredients.

• Check optional custom ingredient categories.

Technical analytics and crash information are used only to:

• Measure general App usage.

• Understand feature usage.

• Diagnose crashes.

• Improve reliability and performance.

5. Third-Party Services

Gluten Spotter uses Google Firebase Analytics and Google Firebase Crashlytics to provide analytics and crash reporting.

Information processed by these services is handled in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy:

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your information.

We do not share scanned images, extracted text, ingredient lists, or analysis results with third parties.

Technical analytics and crash reporting data are processed by Google Firebase solely to provide analytics and crash reporting services.

No advertising SDKs are used, and Gluten Spotter does not display advertisements or use analytics data for advertising purposes.

7. Data Retention

Images, extracted text, ingredient lists, and analysis results remain on your device and are not stored by us.

Analytics and crash reporting data are retained by Google Firebase according to Google's retention policies.

Removing the App will prevent any future analytics or crash reports from being generated by the App.

8. User Rights

The App does not require user accounts.

You may stop the App from accessing your camera or photo library at any time by changing your device permissions or uninstalling the App.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the Last updated date above.
