When is the Great Lakes Queer Farmers Convergence (GLQFC)?

Who can attend GLQFC?
Queer and trans farmers, aspiring farmers, lapsed farmers, land stewards, and earth workers living and working in the Great Lakes Region. This includes but is not limited to Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Ontario, Canada. If you live in another Midwest state/province not listed above, we still encourage you to register!
What do I need to know about registration?
GLQFC uses a two-step registration process. This form will be open until Aug. 1. We'll email you at the email address you provide by Aug. 15 to let you know whether your registration is confirmed, or whether you have been placed on a waitlist. The reason we do this is so that we can prioritize the attendance of BIPOC farmers and of groups that have been underrepresented at past convergences like folks over the age of 35.
What is co-creation and why is it important at GLQFC?
One thing that separates GLQFC from the standard conference is that the event is co-created by all of the participants. From set-up to meals, QFC is a community-powered event. This helps us keep the cost of the event accessible and creates more opportunity for connection amongst attendees.
Some of the 2026 GLQFC co-creation roles include:
Workshops...
sharing a skill
facilitating a discussion
organize a group activity like yoga, dance, fiberarts, etc (small or large)
Kitchen...
plan and cook a meal for 50 attendees as part of a 4-5 person team
Attend, Rest, Play, & Network
offer your presence
help with miscellaneous tasks
bring another offering not listed
take it easy this year (maybe it's your first time or you're burned out from other work)
On-Site Support
support with dish washing, set up, and breakdown
take a shift at the welcome table
be our first-aid medic
Kid Care
offer childcare
collaborate on a workshop for kids

How will GLQFC address accessibility and special accommodations?
The planning team is committed to making our convergence accessible and inclusive for all. The registration form will have details for what will be provided, as well as the space to voice needs. If you have any further considerations, please contact the email provided on the registration form.
How much does it cost?
The registration fee is self-determined, sliding-scale $50-$225. No one will be turned away for lack of funds and your ability to contribute financially will have no bearing on whether or not your registration is confirmed.
The money from registration fees goes toward covering the cost of food, porta-potties, event supplies, travel stipends for BIPOC attendees who request them, and mutual aid efforts. We also raise a portion of our funds each year from donors to keep the convergence as accessible as possible.
