Glowmint is a photo editor for selfies, published by Andrew Putranto ("we"). This policy covers the Glowmint app for Android and for iPhone and iPad.
Your photos stay on your device
Glowmint edits your photos on your device. The app never uploads a photo, a face measurement or anything derived from them. It has no account and no analytics of its own, and we run no server that the app talks to.
To find teeth, eyes and skin, the app runs a face detection model that is built into the app. The measurements exist only in memory while a photo is open. They are not stored, not used to identify anyone and not sent anywhere.
What the app can access
Photos you pick. You choose a photo in the system photo picker, and only that photo is opened. The app does not read the rest of your library.
Camera. Used only when you choose "Take a selfie". The photo stays on your device.
Saving. Edited photos are saved to Pictures/Glowmint on Android, and to your photo library on iPhone and iPad, where the app asks for permission to add photos only. On Android 9 and older, saving needs the storage permission.
A saved photo keeps the date, camera and location details of the original, if it had them. Remove them before sharing if you do not want others to see them.
Ads
The free version of Glowmint shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner on the home screen and an ad after a photo is saved. Glowmint Pro removes them.
To show and measure ads, the AdMob component sends Google the device's advertising ID, its IP address (which gives an approximate location), device and app information, and how you interact with the ads. Google and its partners may use this to personalise ads, as described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Your photos and face measurements are never part of it.
Where the law requires it (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your choice before any ad is requested, and you can change it later under Settings, "Ad privacy choices". Elsewhere you can reset or delete the advertising ID in the settings of your device, and on iPhone and iPad switch off personalised ads there.
Purchases
Glowmint Pro is a subscription sold through Google Play or the App Store. The store handles the payment; we never see your payment details. The app only learns from the store whether your account has Glowmint Pro.
Data collected and shared
We ourselves collect no personal data. The only data that leaves the app is what the AdMob component sends Google for ads, as described above, and only in the free version.
The Android app also includes Google's Play Billing and MediaPipe face detection components. These may send Google technical diagnostics about the component itself. They never contain your photos.
Children
Glowmint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
