Glowhair – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Glowhair collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the app. It applies to all users, including content creators, viewers and stylists.

2. Data we collect
We collect and process different types of data:
2.1. Account and profile data
• email address,
• password (stored hashed, never in plain text),
• display name / username,
• basic profile information (bio, city, country, “kind” of stylist, price ranges).
2.2. Content and usage data
• videos, images and captions you upload,
• comments and likes,
• saved videos,
• basic technical data such as device type and app version,
• logs about how you interact with the app (for example: which screens are loaded, errors).
2.3. Booking and stylist data
• information about stylist profiles (location, services, prices, availability),
• booking requests and appointments (date, time, chosen service, city, country),
• optional notes that you write for the stylist.
In the current MVP, Glowhair does not process payment card details: payments are made directly on site between client and stylist.
2.4. Location data (for stylists)
If you use the “Use my current GPS position” feature in the stylist area, we may:
• access your location with your permission,
• store a geographic point for your stylist profile,
• store a formatted address (city, country, street).
You can decide not to use this feature and you can update or delete your profile later.
3. Why we use your data (purposes and legal bases)
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
• To create and manage your account
Legal basis: performance of a contract (providing you access to the app).
• To provide the core features of Glowhair
– video feed, content upload, likes, saves, comments, profile management,
– booking requests between users and stylists.

• To improve and protect the app
– monitoring usage to understand performance,
– detecting bugs, abuse or security incidents.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the service.
• To communicate with you
– service messages (account, security),
– information about important changes to the app or this Policy.

We do not use your data for aggressive profiling or unrelated advertising.
4. Sharing of your data
We share data only when necessary:
• With stylists and clients
– When you request a booking, the relevant stylist sees the information needed: your display name, selected slot, chosen service and optional notes.
– When you are a stylist, users can see your public profile (display name, city, country, services, prices, availability and public contact info that you choose to show).
• With service providers (processors)
Glowhair uses trusted third-party providers to host and operate the app (for example: database, file storage, analytics). These providers process your data only on our behalf and follow appropriate security measures.
• Where required by law
We may disclose data if a competent authority lawfully requires it, or if this is necessary to protect our rights or other users.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some technical providers may store or process data outside the European Economic Area. In this case, we use providers who offer appropriate safeguards under GDPR (for example: Standard Contractual Clauses, equivalent protections).
6. Data retention
We keep your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above:
• Account data: kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep certain elements for legal, security or audit reasons.
• Content and usage data: may be kept longer in anonymised or aggregated form to help improve the app.
• Booking data: kept for a reasonable period to allow stylists and users to see their history and for security or legal reasons.
7. Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU/EEA or under GDPR protection, you have the following rights:
• access your personal data,
• correct inaccurate or incomplete data,
• request deletion of your data in certain cases,
• restrict or object to some processing,
• receive a copy of your data in a portable format,
• lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
No system is completely risk-free, but we work to keep Glowhair as secure as possible for a solo-founder MVP.
9. Minors
Glowhair is designed for users who are at least 16 years old. If you believe that a child has created an account without appropriate authorisation, please contact us so we can review and act where necessary.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect new features, legal requirements or improvements. We will inform you of significant changes in the app.

Glowhair operates under EU data protection law (GDPR). This page summarises your main rights and how to use them.
1. Your main rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
• Right of access
You can ask us which personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
• Right to rectification
You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (for example, wrong city or contact info in your profile).
• Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
You can request deletion of your personal data in certain cases, for example when:
– you no longer use the app,
– the data is no longer needed,
– you withdraw your consent where consent was the legal basis.
• Right to restriction of processing
You can ask us to limit the use of your data while a request or dispute is being examined.
• Right to data portability
You can ask for a copy of the main personal data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and request that we transmit it to another controller where technically feasible.
• Right to object
You can object to certain types of processing based on our legitimate interests, especially when the impact on your privacy is important.
• Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing
Glowhair does not apply fully automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
2. How to exercise your rights
You can exercise most rights directly in the app by:
• updating your profile information,
• deleting content you uploaded,
• closing your account.

To protect your data, we may ask you for information to verify your identity before answering your request.
3. Response time
We aim to respond to your request within one month. In complex cases, this period may be extended in line with GDPR, but we will inform you of the reason and the expected timing.
4. Complaints with a supervisory authority
If you are not satisfied with our response or you believe your data protection rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
