# GlobeTalk Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GlobeTalk ("GlobeTalk", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the GlobeTalk Android app.
GlobeTalk is a translation app that supports text translation, voice translation, camera text translation, scanned-image translation, offline language packs, translation history, app settings, Firebase services, and advertising.

## Information You Provide or Generate in the App
Depending on how you use GlobeTalk, the App may process the following information:
- Text you type or paste for translation.
- Speech transcripts created from microphone input when you use voice translation or voice input.
- Text detected from the camera preview or from an image you select or capture for scan translation.
- Source and target language choices.
- Translation results.
- Translation history saved on your device when "Save to History" is enabled.
- Favorites, theme, app language, onboarding state, offline-pack state, rewarded-scan quota state, and other app preferences.
GlobeTalk does not require you to create an account. The current app code does not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, payment information, or address.
## Camera, Microphone, and Images
GlobeTalk requests camera permission so you can translate visible text and scan documents or images. Camera frames and captured images are used to detect text with on-device text recognition. Captured scan images may be stored temporarily in the app cache while the App extracts text.
GlobeTalk requests microphone permission so you can speak text for translation. The App uses Android speech recognition to convert speech into text. Depending on the speech recognition service available on your device, audio may be processed by your device or by that speech service under its own terms and privacy policy. GlobeTalk uses the resulting transcript for translation.
When you upload or select an image for scan translation, GlobeTalk extracts text from that image. The image itself is not intentionally sent to our translation service by the App. If you choose online translation for scanned text, the extracted or edited text may be sent for online translation as described below.
## Online Translation
When you use online translation, GlobeTalk sends the text to be translated, the source language code, and the target language code to Google's Gemini API through `generativelanguage.googleapis.com`. This includes typed text, voice transcripts, and extracted scan text when online translation is selected.
We use this information to return a translation. Do not enter private, sensitive, confidential, or legally protected text unless you are comfortable sending it to an online translation provider.
## Offline Translation and Offline Language Packs
When you use offline translation, GlobeTalk uses Google ML Kit translation models on your device after the needed language packs are downloaded. Downloading, checking, or deleting language packs may contact Google services to manage those models.
Offline translation text is processed on your device by the ML Kit translation model, except where the App falls back to or you select online translation.
## Translation History
If "Save to History" is enabled, GlobeTalk saves completed translations locally on your device. Saved history may include:
- Source text.
- Translated text.
- Source and target language codes and names.
- Whether the translation was online or offline.
- Creation time.
- Favorite status.
You can disable "Save to History" in Settings. You can delete individual saved history items from the History screen.
Because Android backup is enabled for this app, local app data may be included in Android cloud backup or device transfer if those features are enabled on your device. Backup behavior is controlled by Android and your Google/device settings.
## Ads, Consent, Analytics, and Remote Configuration
GlobeTalk uses Google Mobile Ads SDK / AdMob to show ads, including banner, native, interstitial, app-open, and rewarded ads. The App also uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request and manage ad consent where required.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate location inferred from IP address, ad interactions, app interactions, diagnostics, and other information needed for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and compliance. Ad personalization may depend on your consent choices, device settings, region, and Google/AdMob configuration.
GlobeTalk includes Firebase Analytics, which may collect app interaction, device, app, and diagnostic information for analytics and service operation.
## Local Preferences and Secure Storage
GlobeTalk stores app preferences locally using Android SharedPreferences. These preferences include language choices, theme, onboarding state, history setting, favorite trip phrases, voice intro state, scan reward quota state, and ad display counters.
## How We Use Information
We use information handled by GlobeTalk to:
- Provide text, voice, camera, scan, and offline translation features.
- Save and display translation history when enabled.
- Remember your settings and language choices.
- Manage offline language packs.
- Show ads and rewarded ad experiences.
- Request and apply ad consent choices where required.
- Improve app reliability, performance, and configuration through Firebase and Google SDKs.
- Prevent abuse, diagnose issues, and maintain app security.
## Sharing
GlobeTalk may share or transmit information in these situations:
- Online translation text and language codes are sent to Google's Gemini API to produce translations.
- Ad, analytics, consent, remote configuration, and diagnostic information may be handled by Google services used in the App, including AdMob, Google Mobile Ads SDK, User Messaging Platform, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Analytics, Google ML Kit, and Google Play services.
- Android backup or device-transfer services may process local app data if enabled by your device settings.
- We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
We do not sell personal information directly. Third-party advertising services may process data for advertising purposes as described in their own policies and your consent choices.
## Retention
Typed text, voice transcripts, scan text, and translation results remain in the active app state while you use the App.
Saved translation history remains on your device until you delete the item, clear app data, uninstall the App, or disable/remove backup copies through your device or Google account settings. Disabling "Save to History" stops future automatic history saves but does not automatically delete existing saved history.
Captured scan images stored in the app cache are temporary and may be removed by the App, Android, or when you clear app cache/data.
Offline language packs remain on your device until you delete them from the App or clear app data.
Third-party services may retain data according to their own policies.
## Deletion and Controls
You can control or delete information in these ways:
- Turn off "Save to History" in Settings to stop automatic saving of future translations.
- Delete individual history entries in the History screen.
- Delete offline language packs in the Offline section.
- Clear GlobeTalk app cache or app data from Android system settings.
- Uninstall GlobeTalk to remove local app data from your device, subject to Android backup behavior.
- Review or change ad consent choices when the consent form is available for your region.
- Use Android permission settings to revoke camera or microphone access.
For privacy requests that cannot be completed on your device, contact us using the contact address above.
## Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information handled by the App. Online requests are sent over HTTPS. Local API key storage uses Android Keystore-backed encryption. Access to camera and microphone requires Android runtime permissions.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
## Children's Privacy
GlobeTalk is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through GlobeTalk, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
## Third-Party Services
GlobeTalk uses third-party services that may process data under their own privacy policies and terms, including:
- Google Gemini API
- Google ML Kit
- Google Play services
- Google Mobile Ads SDK / AdMob
- Google User Messaging Platform
- Firebase Remote Config
- Firebase Analytics
- Android speech recognition services available on the user's device
- Android backup and device-transfer services, if enabled
You should review Google's privacy practices and your device/account settings for more information about how Google services handle data.
## International Processing
Information processed by third-party services may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live.
## Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of GlobeTalk after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means you accept the updated policy.
