Introducing the Global Union of Changemakers (GUC)
Greetings to You,
I am pleased to share with you the birth of a powerful movement – the Global Union of Changemakers (GUC). This organization is currently in the making, initiated by the Virtual Delegates of the 2025 World Bank Group Youth Summit. What started as a platform for youth dialogue and innovation at the Summit has now evolved into a collective effort to create a global organization of changemakers, where passion meets purpose, and where collaboration drives transformation.
At this early stage, GUC is being spearheaded by 35 founding members from diverse countries and backgrounds. Each of these individuals is not only a delegate of the Youth Summit but also a changemaker in their own right, bringing unique expertise, lived experiences, and commitment to solving pressing global challenges. Together, we are building this organization from the ground up – and this is where you come in.
Our Vision
The Global Union of Changemakers is not just another youth network; it is designed to be a uniting force for all changemakers and initiatives worldwide. Our vision is to:
Be present in every country by establishing national leadership structures.
Unite youth-led and community-driven initiatives under one umbrella, creating a collaborative environment where local projects can gain global visibility.
Foster partnerships with institutions such as the United Nations, European Union, African Union, World Bank Group, regional bodies, and development agencies to increase recognition, resources, and opportunities for our members.
Work across multiple sectors because change cannot be achieved in isolation. GUC is committed to operating in key areas including:

At this stage of formation, what we need most are leaders who understand the purpose of GUC and are willing to commit themselves to shaping its future.
Founding Leadership: By joining now, you will be recognized as one of the founding leaders of this global movement. This is not only a title but also a responsibility to guide, shape, and set standards for the organization.
National Presence: We want to ensure that GUC has representation in every country. This means we are looking for leaders who can champion the registration process in their respective nations, laying the groundwork for national chapters.
Fundraising and Partnerships: Sustainability requires resources. We need leaders who can guide us in meeting the requirements of international donors, funding agencies, and partners – helping us secure resources to power our work.
Collaboration and Growth: Leaders will help GUC create an environment of collaboration, mentorship, and shared learning, ensuring that projects big and small can thrive within our network.

Department Head: Bogere Andrew (Uganda) President
The Executive Leadership Department provides strategic direction, oversees governance, and ensures operational coordination across all departments of the Global Union of Changemakers (GUC). This core team is responsible for the vision, ethical leadership, and decision-making that shape the organization.
Department Head: Synthia Mazid Lifa (Bangladesh) – National Director
This department connects the mission of GUC to local realities and national contexts across continents. It ensures that every region and country has representation, localized impact, and regional collaboration. Through its network of National Directors and Regional Officers, the department bridges global goals with grassroots implementation.
Department Head: Melody Chinazo Francis (Benin)
The Communication Department serves as the public voice and internal link of the Global Union of Changemakers (GUC). It ensures timely, clear, and impactful communication across all platforms promoting GUC’s vision, achievements, campaigns, and calls to action globally.
This department is the bridge between the organization and the world.

Department Overseer: Richard Kishoyian (Kenya) – Climate and Justice Officer
The Climate and Environmental Action Department is responsible for championing sustainable climate action and environmental justice across all GUC regions. It leads efforts in raising awareness, advancing green innovation, and supporting climate adaptation for communities most affected by the global climate crisis.
This department ensures GUC plays an active role in addressing one of the most urgent challenges of our time.
Department Head: Samboal Lompo (Burkina Faso) – Planning & Development Chair
The Research, Planning & Development Department powers the backbone of GUC’s operations by ensuring that all our strategies, policies, and programs are grounded in evidence, innovation, and proper evaluation. This team leads the development of tools, systems, and insights that shape GUC’s local and global impact.
This department helps us plan better, measure more clearly, and grow more strategically.
Department Head: Ogwal Bonny Emmanuel (Uganda) – Director for Youth and Volunteer Development
The Youth & Community Empowerment Department is dedicated to uplifting young people and communities by fostering leadership, skills development, volunteerism, and grassroots activism. This department creates opportunities that inspire youth participation, enhance community projects, and promote sustainable social change.
Department Head: Akotonou Mahougnon Wilfried (Benin) – Conflict Resolution and Ethics Chair
The Peace & Political Engagement Department works to promote peacebuilding, ethical leadership, political awareness, and conflict resolution among youth worldwide. This department strives to empower young changemakers to engage constructively in political processes and advocate for justice, equality, and social cohesion.
Department Head: Caleb Litombo (DRC) – Global Summits Coordinator
The Outreach & Events Department is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing impactful events that connect changemakers globally. This department promotes GUC’s mission by coordinating summits, virtual conferences, tours, and community engagement activities that inspire collaboration and action.
Department Head: William Wisdom Bokuba (Cameroon) – Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources & Leadership Support Department ensures the growth, coordination, and welfare of GUC’s leadership and members. This team manages recruitment, member engagement, ethics, performance, and organizational culture to build a strong, motivated, and accountable community.
Department Head: Yaya Sall – Budgeting and Forecasting Analyst
The Finance, Funding & Compliance Department is responsible for managing GUC’s financial resources with transparency, accountability, and strategic foresight. This team ensures sustainable funding, compliance with legal standards, and effective financial planning to support the organization’s growth and impact.
Department Head: Muhammad Abdulrazak (Benin) – IT/System Manager
The Technology & Administrative Operations Department ensures GUC’s digital infrastructure and administrative processes run smoothly and securely. This team supports communication, data management, and day-to-day organizational efficiency through innovative technology solutions and effective administrative coordination.
Department Head: Lwitikano Kayira (Malawi) – Research Director
This department fuels the Global Union of Changemakers with data-driven insights, forward-thinking strategies, and bold innovations. It ensures that GUC remains visionary, relevant, and impactful in addressing global challenges through research, policy recommendations, and technological foresight.
Department Head: (Vacant) – Director of Health and Well-being
This department champions youth health, mental well-being, and inclusive development across all regions. It ensures that no one is left behind—regardless of gender, ability, background, or condition—and promotes a world where every young person thrives in body, mind, and dignity.
Department Head: Elly Omondi (Kenya) – Volunteer Engagement Officer
The Personal Development Department is dedicated to unlocking the potential of every young changemaker within GUC. It fosters leadership, skill-building, and self-empowerment by offering structured opportunities for training, mentorship, and personal growth.

The Human Rights & Social Justice Department of the Global Union of Changemakers exists to protect dignity, uphold equity, and ensure justice for all. Through education, advocacy, and international collaboration, we amplify young voices and promote inclusive, peaceful societies rooted in fairness and human rights.
This department stands as the moral heartbeat of GUC defending the vulnerable and empowering the silenced.
