Dr. Clare Gerada

Dr Gerada is a registered Medical Practitioner with an understanding of and experience in the provision of general practice, mental health and addiction services. She undertook her psychiatric training at the Maudsley and Bethlam Hospitals, 1986 – 1990.Since 1993 Dr Gerada has been the lead clinician for the Consultancy Liaison Addiction Service which provides support to general practitioners such that they are able to deliver effective care to drug users.Dr Gerada has held a number of national roles, including, Senior Policy Advisor Department of Health, Drugs and Alcohol. Director of RCGP Substance Misuse Use Unit & was Chair of RCGP National Expert Group on Substance Misuse. In both of these roles, Dr Gerada provided national leadership in substance misuse, developing the RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse and supporting the creation of shared care working across England.Director Primary Care, National Clinical Governance Support Team, 2003-2006: responsible in part for developing Governments’ response to the Shipman Inquiry. Vice Chair RCGP 2007 – 2010. Chair RCGP 2011 – 2013. Dame Clare Gerada awarded DBE in the 2020 Queens Birthday Honours for services to General Practice.

Dr. Alexandre Chiavegatto

Alexandre Chiavegatto Filho has a degree in Economics from FEA / USP, a direct doctorate in Public Health from FSP / USP and a postdoctoral degree from Harvard University. He is a Free Lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology at FSP / USP. In recent years, he has been the Principal Investigator of artificial intelligence projects in health funded by FAPESP, CNPq, Microsoft and the Lemann Foundation. He is currently the coordinator of the IACOV-BR (Artificial Intelligence for Covid-19 in Brazil) network, which aims to develop machine learning algorithms for the diagnosis and prognosis of covid-19 in the five Brazilian regions.

Dr. Shailey Prasad

Dr Shailendra (Shailey) Prasad, MD MPH is the Carlson Chair of Global Health and the Executive Director of the Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility at the University of Minnesota, Professor and Vice-Chair of Education at the Dept of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota, Adjunct Professor at the School of Public Health, and a Fellow at the Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota. He is also a honorary visiting professor at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Dr. Prasad has worked in underserved areas for 3 decades as a clinician, has conducted health services research and has been actively engaged in education across disciplines. He is actively involved in the growth of academic primary care and global health research training across various parts of Africa, India, Thailand and South America. He has also been involved in academic department strengthening and mentorship training across various universities.

Dr. Renee Crichlow

Dr. Renee Crichlow is the Director of Advocacy and Policy for the University of Minnesota Dept of Family Medicine and Community Health. Dr. Crichlow’s first faculty position was an attending physician at UCDavis, with a joint appointment in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and OB/GYN. She was then faculty for the University of Washington at the Montana Family Medicine Residency. Now, Dr. Crichlow is serving as an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota Department of Family Medicine and Community Health in an urban, low wealth community of North Minneapolis at the UMN North Memorial Family Medicine Residency, and has recently been appointed into the Mac Baird Endowed Chair in Family Medicine Advocacy and Policy. Dr. Crichlow has been a long time participant on pipeline development programs including founding physician for the Eastern Montana AHEC in the early 2000s, in North Minneapolis Dr. Crichlow developed The Ladder,(theladdermn.org) a cascading mentorship program that encourages youths from low-income communities to pursue medical careers, and as co-director of UMN undergraduate BA/MD seven-year program at UMN. Dr. Crichlow has been a Medical Director of an FCHQ and an Associate Director of a Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Million Belay

Million Belay coordinates the Alliance for Food Sovereignty for Africa, a network of networks of major networks in Africa. He is a member of the International Panel of Experts on the Sustainable of Food Systems (IPES-Food). Million is a founder of MELCA – Ethiopia, an indigenous NGO working on issues of agro-ecology, intergenerational learning, advocacy and livelihood improvement of local and indigenous peoples. Million has been working over two decades on the issues of intergenerational learning of bio-cultural diversity, sustainable agriculture, the right of local communities for seed and food sovereignty and forest issues. His main interest is now advocacy on food sovereignty, learning among generations, knowledge dialogues and the use of participatory mapping for social learning, identity building and mobilization of memory for resilience. He has PhD in environmental learning and MsC in tourism and conservation and BsC in Biology.

Dr. Ana Poças

Ana Poças is finalizing a PhD Sustainable Consumption at Utrecht University, taking multidisciplinary perspectives to understand what influences the high levels of material consumption contributing to the present ecological and climate emergencies, and looking as well to ways of building alternative food systems, and of reducing one's material consumption.Masters of Science in Sustainable Development, and a Bachelors Degree in Astronomy. Ana is active in the degrowth and climate justice movements.




Omnia El Omrani

Omnia El Omrani is a 24-year old medical student from Egypt, currently working at Ain Shams University Hospital with more than 5 years of experience in public health and student advocacy. She is also serving as the Liaison Officer for Public Health Issues for International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA), representing 1.3 million medical students worldwide. Omnia advocates for meaningful youth engagement in global health issues with a particular focus on environment health, climate change and non-communicable diseases.

Blanca Paniello Castillo

Blanca Paniello Castillo, BSc, is a recent graduate in Biomedical Sciences, University of Barcelona, Spain. She developed her expertise in public health issues throughout her extensive work within the IFMSA as the Public Health Regional Assistant for Europe and is the current Development Assistant (2018–2020). "My background is in Nursing, Community/Public Health, and Gerontology. I started her career as a Community Health Nurse in 2005 in Brazil and continued to advance my knowledge base throughout the years, with the completion of a Master's and Ph.D. in Nursing, along with a Graduate Certificate in Public Health and Gerontology. I am currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Public Health (The College of New Jersey) teaching on both Undergraduate and Graduate (MPH) levels. My clinical focus is on Gerontology/Hospice working as a hospice nurse for Penn Medicine Princeton Hospital in New Jersey, USA. I have conducted studies on Health Education and Promotion, Disease Prevention, Gerontology, and Aging. "

Dr. Omar Cherkaoui

Omar is a Medical Doctor from Rabat, Morocco and the former President of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA). He also recently completed a Master in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins University. He is currently the Head of the AMBOSS Global Health Initiative, which is a not-for-profit initiative aiming to empower all healthcare professionals in Low- and Middle-Income Countries to provide the best possible care.

Dr. Olawale Maiyegun

Dr. Olawale Maiyegun is a Public Policy expert and independent consultant. A former Ambassador and career Diplomat in the Nigerian Foreign Service. He is also former Director, Department of Social Affairs, African Union Commission, Addis Ababa.He has published works in reputable journals on health, child rights and migration. His current research focus is on the intersection of human rights and sport in Africa. He has particular interest in the migration and trafficking of young African athletes. It’s about documenting the human rights risks and collection of accurate data for evidence-based mitigation and remedy policies.




Dr. Stephanie Bispo Amaral

Stephanie Bispo Amaral is a Nutritionist, Master in Pediatrics (Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG) and PhD in Social Statistics and Demography (University of Southampton, UK). Her research focused on populational nutritional status for children and adolescents as well as trends for population dietary habits. She participated in different projects with WHO, USAID and Open University on maternal and child health, including nutrition. At the moment, she works at UNICEF Brazil in the area of Health, nutrition and HIV/AIDS.

Luísa Chaves is a Medical Doctor graduated by the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC-MG), Brazil.
