Global Unit Converter ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains—in plain language—how we handle information when you use the Global Unit Converter mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Global Unit Converter does not require account registration and does not collect your name, email, or other personally identifiable information directly.
Automatically collected data
The App may collect limited, non-personal technical data to improve functionality, including:
Device type, operating system version, and app version
General usage patterns (screens visited, features used)
Crash reports and performance diagnostics
IP address (general region only, not stored persistently)
Locally stored preferences
Your chosen language, theme, conversion history, and favorites are stored only on your device using local storage and are never transmitted to our servers.
Global Unit Converter requires an internet connection to fetch live market data for Currency, Cryptocurrency, and Commodities converters.
What is fetched
Currency exchange rates (ExchangeRate-API, with Frankfurter as a fallback)
Cryptocurrency prices (CoinGecko)
Commodity prices (Yahoo Finance)
What is not transmitted
No financial account details, payment information, or personally identifiable information is sent during these requests
Requests contain only the data needed to retrieve public market rates (for example, currency codes or asset identifiers)
Caching
Live rates may be cached on your device for a short period to reduce network usage and improve performance. Cached data stays on your device unless you clear app storage.
Global Unit Converter uses Google AdMob, operated by Google LLC, to display advertisements within the App.
AdMob may collect and use:
Android Advertising ID (AAID) or equivalent device identifier
IP address and general location
Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
App usage data and ad interaction data
Google uses this data under its own privacy policies:
Personalized vs. non-personalized ads
During testing, the App may display non-personalized test ads. In production, ads may be personalized based on your interests. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads on Android).
The App itself does not use browser cookies. However, the AdMob SDK may use device identifiers and similar technologies, including:
Android Advertising ID (AAID) — a resettable, anonymous identifier used for ad targeting and frequency capping
SDK-level tracking tokens — used by AdMob to measure ad performance and prevent fraud
You can reset or opt out at any time:
Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device
Tap "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed through the App:
All live market data requests (currency, crypto, and commodity rates) are transmitted over encrypted channels using HTTPS/TLS to help protect data integrity in transit
No user credentials or payment information are collected or stored
Locally stored preferences remain on your device and are not accessible by us
Third-party SDKs (AdMob) are kept up to date to address known security vulnerabilities
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute data security, but we design the App to minimize the data it collects and to use industry-standard encryption for network communication.
We respect user privacy globally and design our practices to align with widely recognized standards, including:
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for users in the European Economic Area and UK
CCPA/CPRA (California Consumer Privacy Act) for California residents
Google Play Developer Program Policies and Google AdMob program requirements

Global Unit Converter is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, features, or applicable laws. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, notify users through an in-app notice.
