I recently had a chance to listen to one of the most talked about events in an App called clubhouse.It was Monday at 1 AM EST and Elon Musk’s fans were tuning into a clubhouse discussion where he talked about(in Live) everything that he is working on including neurolink, aliens,# GMC moments in stock, life on Mars, Spacex milestones just to name a few. In the middle of this live interview, everyone in the audience witnessed a rare chance of Elon asking questions to Robinhood CEO Vlad,an iconic moment where two entrepreneurs discussed the challenges and issues.
Clubhouse has put to use a very unique aspect of our everyday conversation, our voices in a more interactive manner. A platform where you can have discussions, open conversations or your first virtual party. Create a private/public room for the event you are organizing and shout out from the roof(well, you can use Twitter too) and that’s it, You have your first set of the audience! It is as simple as that. Simple, clear, and elegant App UI where you have access to a wide range of speakers/entrepreneurs /celebrities/subject matter expertise etc. These include people whom we passionately follow and sometimes even call as our idols and here they are directly talking to us LIVE.Clubhouse got a lot of media attention with that one event and was able to safely secure investment interests worth $1 billion evaluation.
There are several opportunities that are foreseeable in future in this industry. Here are some futuristic ideas that I think will revolutionize this market.
Audio Analysis-there are a lot of opportunities around analyzing the influencer data. You no longer need a big venue or a conference hall to launch a mass scale event. If you are a speaker , you can easily come into platforms like clubhouse and speak about your product/service/lessons learned. And there is definitely an audience for everything. This brings in a lot of analysis around how many participants your content brought in, how many retained till the end etc.If you have a good social media marketing strategy to go with it,you are in for a thrilling ride.
Voice Recordings-Now this is one feature that most social audio apps doesn’t have right at this moment. But imagine this way, Voice is a form of data and it has the touch of human emotions,In fact what we are listening to are straight from people’s mouth and hence most valuable information.There need to be more privacy and compliance around recordings and storing this data for sure. And Data sovereignty being another beast to tackle. But this is definitely an opportunity that is very essential.
Audio Improvements- We are talking about improvements in audio quality, ambience filtering, noise cancellation, voice filtering where you get a studio like feeling. Infact companies like Zoom, Polycom have inbuilt noise cancellation features in their software. As a software company, you can focus on tools and designs that can allow these audio frequency modulation and you have a winning product. Hard to imagine but this will be soon a reality too.
Integration with AI Virtual Assistants - Imagine a conversation in which you bring in voice assistants like Alexa, Siri etc .Yep, I meant right that. A panel discussion in which both humans and AIs are virtually connected. This opens a door of possibilities and if you are by chance a creative mind full of imagination like me, I can already see myself delegating tasks to Alexa..lol
Embedding audio social chat rooms to newsroom conversation - news channels were considered till this point as a place where reporters can deliver the news from a studio from some city. Now imagine them coming live through embedded audio social chat rooms .Live broadcasting to an open audience for discussions and conversations.
There are several technology apps that will transform old industries. Social Audio market has just started rallying in the block and it's here to stay for some time.
