Sources of Strength is a wellness model based on strengths. In this particular training, I introduce Sources of Strength to encourage the use of activities in the classroom that involves the student’s sources of strength. Sources of Strength is a program that helps everyone (adults and peers) lean into strengths when times get tough so that as a community, we spread help, hope, strength, and normalize seeking help. Together, we increase the protective factors for our students against suicide, bullying, and substance use.

For this training, please watch the videos and read the Google Slides about Sources of Strength.

In order to use this training in your own classroom:

  • Duplicate or copy the Sheets, Jamboard, or Slides templates depending on your familiarity with the tools and the amount of time allocated to these activities in your classroom.

  • Introduce the topic of Sources of Strength and activities that students could use to identify and improve their strengths.

  • Have students discuss their strengths with others and brainstorm possible activities relating to their Sources of Strength.
