Innovate to Educate
Harnessing thinking routines empowers students to construct, deepen, and effectively apply their learning. In my classroom, I've witnessed the transformative impact of student portfolios, vividly illustrating how these routines foster meaningful comprehension and knowledge acquisition. Mastery emerges as students craft original products that not only demonstrate their grasp of the material but also articulate their thought processes. Recognizing the need for streamlined documentation and enhanced digital collaboration, I've embraced free technology solutions such as Microsoft Flip and Wakelet. Drawing from real-life examples in my classroom, I'll demonstrate how these tools capture the evolution of learning and thinking with clarity and precision.

About Kamal Preet
From Bangalore classrooms to the future of education, Kamal Preet ignites a passion for SDGs. This tech-savvy problem-solver is an Educator Innovation Lead at Microsoft, amplifying teacher voices and shaping learning for tomorrow. Session Description for 6 Magnificent Ideas to Boost Social-Emotional Learning with Technology

6 Magnificent Ideas to Boost Social-Emotional Learning with Technology
In a world demanding emotional intelligence, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is pivotal. It emphasizes five core competencies: Self-Awareness, Social Awareness, Self-Management, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making. Building these skills involves fostering emotional vocabulary, providing opportunities for practice, observation, feedback, and self-reflection. Integrating SEL into academic curricula is essential for a holistic approach, and technology serves as a powerful enabler. I will talk about how at Sat Paul Mittal School, Minecraft is employed for content delivery, discovery learning, project-based learning, and assessments, resulting in improved math performance. Tools like Thing link and Forms facilitate playful insights into students' personal experiences, while Microsoft tools like Accessibility Checker and Math Assistant address accessibility and math anxiety. The Microsoft FLIP platform engages students through various activities, enhancing social engagement during remote learning. Reflect in Teams and other platforms provide opportunities for students to share and navigate emotions, fostering empathy and a healthy classroom community. SEL's impact is evident in student leadership development, enhanced life skills, and complementing academic achievement. As educators, we should encourage the use of creative learning platforms, with technology as a key enabler, to foster social-emotional development.

About Monica Joshi
Monica Joshi works at Sat Paul Mittal School, Ludhiana, Punjab as an IT Head and her role is with all technical and management skills. She has 24 years of relevant work experience. She is associated with teachers training on IT skills and orienting students about the upcoming technology. She is passionate about integrating technology in education and desires to make projects engaging as well as fun for students as well as teachers. Session Description for Equity, Education, Storytelling, and EdTech: A Love Story

Equity, Education, Storytelling, and EdTech: A Love Story
Every student should feel empowered. By seeing themselves and their stories reflected accurately in curriculum, teachers amplify the voices of diverse students providing them with opportunities to be heard. How can educators design instruction and create spaces that nurture all students? How do we integrate engagement, representation, action and expression, into the ethos of a school culture while grounding our stance as educators in equity? This session will guide participants on the ways to transform classes into brave spaces doing a deep dive into the interrogation of their own identities and the real world and discussing ways to help students gain a sense of belonging. It will answer the question of how do we create mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors amplifying our students' voices as a means of creative truly inclusive spaces? This session will also provide educators with the tools to engage in emancipatory teaching by working to develop students' liberatory consciousness through counter storytelling. Furthermore, the session will help teachers consider ways tech tools can support equity in classrooms. Together, we will answer the following questions: How do we build students' capacities to navigate the barriers of inequity and social injustice? How do we disrupt the systems in our locus of control? How do we integrate the use of technology to promote social action and civic engagement?

About Dr. Sawsan Jaber
Dr. Sawsan Jaber is a global educator, presenter, equity strategist, curriculum designer, and keynote speaker of 20+ years from the United States. She is currently a high school English department chair and a District Equity Leader at Maine West HS. Dr. Jaber founded Education Unfiltered Consulting and works with schools globally. Session Description for Voice AI and Speaking for ESL students

Voice AI and Speaking for ESL Students
English as a Second Language (ESL) learners often face challenges in developing their speaking skills due to limited opportunities for practice, fear of making mistakes, and a lack of personalized feedback. However, with the advent of Voice Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, there exists a powerful tool to revolutionize ESL speaking skill development. Voice AI platforms can offer a safe and interactive environment for ESL students to practice speaking without the fear of judgment, receive instant feedback on pronunciation and grammar, and engage in personalized speaking exercises tailored to their proficiency level and learning style. This transformative technology has the potential to enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of ESL speaking instruction, empowering learners to communicate confidently and fluently in English.

About Marharyta Kaliuzhna

My name is Marharyta Kaliuzhna and I am a teacher from Ukraine. I really enjoy creating good learning experiences for students that help them learn well. I have experience designing curriculum and lessons, making multimedia materials, and understanding how adults learn best.

In my work experience, I was a Teaching Assistant in the UK helping students one-on-one or in small groups who needed extra support. Before that, I was the Principal at 3D School in Ukraine for four years. My job was to develop school policies, set up user-friendly online learning systems, and create e-learning courses and training programs.

For many years, I taught English as a Second Language to students of different ages and levels in Ukraine. One is my favorite project is Art Project BOOM. This project aims to teach students critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, teaching skills, mutual respect, and safe social media use through an inquiry-based approach centered on observing and creating rather than consuming information. The interesting insight was that most of the students want material results while obtaining knowledge and skills is not seen as a prospective goal.

Session Description for Gender gap in technology in education and AI

Gender gap in technology in education and AI
Currently, my research is focused on exploring the ways in which AI has exacerbated the gender gap in education, particularly in the realm of public speaking about AI. It's evident that more men are taking the stage as presenters than women. This disparity is notable in both the educational landscape of England and Sweden, where the representation of women in technology lacks the fair diversity it should possess.

About Sansy Bansal
With over 25 years of experience as an educational leader and computer science educator, I am deeply committed to inspiring students from diverse backgrounds and all genders. My teaching journey has taken me across various age groups, from Grade 4 to adult learners, where I cover a wide range of subjects including coding, Computer Science, Design Processes, Engineering, Science, Maths, and Technology, always aiming to make learning engaging and enjoyable. My teaching has taken me to Sweden, Italy and the UK.

Beyond my passion for teaching, I am a lifelong learner myself. Holding roles as a Google, Microsoft and Apple Educator, as well as being a Google Innovator, I am constantly seeking new knowledge and opportunities for growth. My academic pursuits include courses in senior management, NPQH, NPQSL, and the completion of an M.Sc. in Education. I have had the privilege of sharing my insights through platforms like TedTalk, Spark events, and keynote presentations at conferences.

One of the highlights of my career was leading a national Hackathon competition, where my students secured victory for two consecutive years. Notably, the winning teams included a female leader who has gone on to run a successful company, as well as an all-girls team. This experience has allowed me to forge connections with professionals globally, enriching the learning experience for both staff and students. Being able to motivate females into STEM learning has always been my passion.

My ongoing mission revolves around promoting STEM education for girls and integrating emerging technologies like augmented reality/virtual reality into the curriculum. I am dedicated to providing inspiring role models and fostering a sense of hope and achievement in students as they leave school. To me, this serves as proof that life is a continuous journey of learning and growth, and I find immeasurable satisfaction in witnessing the impact of education on young minds.
