We invite scholars working on topics related to international capital flows and economic growth from the region to present their papers and interact with young researchers at Waseda University working in the field of international macroeconomics. Members of the WIAPS Research Group on “Global Capital Market and Economic Development in Asia” are the core participants of this conference. We aim to expand the WIAPS Research Group to build an international research network of scholars working on related topics and encourage participation of young scholars.

Project teams working with gravity models use the Comprehensive Investment Survey Data by the IMF as well as the restatement data constructed by Coppola et al. (2021). This workshop aims to help all teams understand how to use the datasets and the latest methodology for their gravity model estimations. Through presenting their project and receiving feedback from others, each research team is expected to start writing their paper over summer and finalize their draft by the end of the year.
