A. No Collection of Personal Data

Glitch Pets does not collect any personal data. This includes, but is not limited to: your real name, email address, phone number, browser history, passwords, form data, payment information, or precise geographical location.

B. Non-Personal Data Processed by the Extension

This extension exclusively processes and stores non-personal and localized application data necessary for the pet's functionality and your user experience:

1. Pet Status Data: Stores the pet's current Energy and Affection values to maintain game progress and state changes.

2. Pet Configuration Data: Stores your selected pet type and your custom AI shortcut URLs.

3. Pet Position Data: Stores the pet's X/Y coordinates on the webpage to maintain its position across browsing sessions.

All the above-mentioned data is stored solely on your local Chrome browser storage (chrome.storage.local). It is never uploaded to any remote server or shared with third parties.

C. Webpage URL Processing Explained

The extension reads the URL of your current active tab. This is solely for local determination of whether the URL contains specific AI-related keywords, which then triggers the pet's energy gain logic. URL data is processed in real-time locally and is neither stored nor transmitted.

3. Permissions Usage and Purpose

This extension requests specific permissions to perform its functions. All permissions are strictly confined to the single purpose of the extension.

• storage Permission: Used to store the pet's Energy, Affection, shortcut settings, and position data, ensuring data persistence. This data is stored exclusively on your local browser.

• alarms Permission: Used to set up timed tasks, such as periodically decreasing the pet's energy and checking its status to maintain its active state.

• tabs Permission: Used to monitor changes in the current active tab's URL. This allows the extension to detect if you are browsing AI-related content, thereby triggering the pet's energy replenishment mechanism.

4. Developer Resource Use: AI Assistance

This section transparently explains how generative AI tools were utilized during the development and design phases of the Glitch Pets extension. The use of these AI services is unrelated to the user's plugin runtime and does not involve any user data.

A. Gemini Code Generation Assistance

• Usage: Google Gemini and similar large language models were used to assist in generating, optimizing, or explaining core logic code for the extension.

• Data Impact: This process occurred in a development environment and did not involve any user's personal information or plugin runtime data. The AI exclusively processed code snippets and logical requirements provided by the developer.

B. Midjourney Character and Animation Generation

• Usage: The Midjourney image generation tool was used to design and refine the virtual pet character images and their status animations as base pixel art and animation assets.

• Data Impact: This process only involved textual character descriptions provided by the developer to generate visual assets. These images, once generated, were downloaded and packaged as local resources within the extension. No user data was involved.

C. Gemini Marketing Image Generation Assistance

• Usage: Google Gemini or other image generation models were used to assist in generating marketing screenshots, preview images, or logo concepts required for the Chrome Web Store.

• Data Impact: This process only involved inputting marketing text and design requirements. The resulting images are used for product presentation and do not involve any user data or privacy risks.
