This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and process your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
By downloading and using Glinza Translate, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy.
To provide our core translation features, Glinza Translate requires access to certain device permissions. We do not collect, store, or share your personal data on our servers. All processing is done in real-time.
Here is exactly how we use your device permissions:
Screen Capture (MediaProjection API): When you use the "Scan" feature via the Quick Settings Tile or the App, we request permission to capture your screen. This is strictly used to identify and extract text currently visible on your screen using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for immediate translation. The captured screen content is processed ephemerally, never sent to our personal servers, and is discarded immediately after the translation is generated.
Camera Permission: We require camera access to allow you to point your device at physical text (like menus or signs) and translate it in real-time. The image feed is processed solely for text recognition and is not stored.
Photo Library / Storage Permission: Our App allows you to select images directly from your device's gallery for translation. These selected images are processed locally on your device to extract text and are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Microphone (Audio Record) Permission: We require microphone access to provide speech-to-text (Voice Input) functionalities. Your voice data is processed to convert speech into text for translation and is not recorded, stored, or used for any other purpose.
While we do not store your data, Glinza Translate utilizes trusted third-party services to perform translations and text recognition:
Google ML Kit: We use on-device machine learning models to detect languages, recognize text (OCR), and perform basic translations completely offline.
Google Translate API (Cloud Translation): For high-quality online translations, the text extracted from your screen, images, voice, or camera may be sent securely to Google's translation servers. This data is transmitted securely via encryption and is processed according to Google's stringent privacy policies.

Glinza Translate operates on an ephemeral data processing model. This means:
We do not maintain user accounts or require registration.
We do not have a backend server or database that stores your text, images, screenshots, or audio.
All translation inputs are discarded from the app's active memory as soon as the translation session is closed or cleared. Your language preferences and settings are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences.
We value your trust in providing us with your data (temporarily, for translation). We use commercially acceptable means of protecting it, including utilizing secure connections (HTTPS) when interacting with external APIs. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic processing is 100% secure and reliable.
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
