Have you heard the one about the executive who chased an over-hyped, heavily funded, yet revenue-deficient Silicon Valley startup?
That’s not me. Over 25 years, I’ve partnered with pragmatic visionaries across B2B tech to turn ambitious ideas into measurable market traction—and enviable exits. My focus has spanned differentiated messaging, competitive intelligence, and sticky content across AR, PR, social, and influencer channels—delivering pipeline-generating advocacy rather than noise.
Above all, Industry Analyst Relations is my true north. For the past 15 years, I’ve dedicated myself to the craft of AR because I thrive in "the in-between." AR professionals don't simply distribute roadmaps and triage RFIs; we operate as high-stakes translators bridging two demanding worlds: ambitious, biased internal stakeholders and fiercely skeptical analyst firms like Gartner, Forrester, and IDC. Success demands balancing competing agendas, pressure-testing messaging against tough external scrutiny, and guiding product strategy toward market reality. It is equal parts strategic diplomacy and rigorous consensus-building. In many ways, it’s like corporate marriage counseling, and it’s where I do my best work.
Beyond my day job, I'm also active in New England businesses and the non-profit community, and serve as an Advisory Partner for several early-stage tech companies in Agentic AI, and AI Visual Search. Base camp is LinkedIn, but also active on Twitter at: http://twitter.com/gzim
