“I’ve always believed that golf is a microcosm of life. It’s a game
that can’t be beaten, only played.” – female golfer
Welcome to all of you to another season of golfing at Gleneagles Golf Course – Women’s Division.
We are blessed to call Gleneagles Golf Club our weekly place of play. Developed as a golf course in 1927, this historic property was once a family-owned ranch, with a few apple trees on Hole #6 a reminder of the property’s early days.
We have a total membership of 120 women, welcoming 12 new members this year. There is a place for all levels of golfers in this club, with three divisions based on handicap. Our dedicated volunteers ensure that we all appreciate the rules of play as well as social time and friendship. We look forward to new members learning about the joys and challenges of the game, through mentorship from a big sister, the rules seminar, and through play. We hope to see our Social members on the fairway at some time, or at one of luncheons hosted by members of the talented House Committee.
The success of our club depends on the volunteers who donate their time and talents. Volunteering is also an opportunity to get to know members and feel a sense of belonging. Some of our commitments to the Municipality include hosting two Junior Tournaments as well as the Special Olympics. Both events are inspirational for those involved and we welcome all members to lend a helping hand.
We are lucky to enjoy a restaurant and bar only steps away from Hole #9, and The Orchard is there to offer us snacks, drinks and meals during the season and beyond. Don’t forget to join us each week after your Tuesday game in the Community Room, where coffee and treats are always available. We are excited and honoured to be your Co-Captains this year, and look forward to seeing you on the fairway or after the game!
