Glen Rock WICS

Glen Rock Women in Community Service is a women’s organization supporting local charitable and community services since 1993

WICS participates in Glen Rock traditional events such as the annual town Halloween parade and Kilroy's food drives. Members lend their support, talents, and fundraising efforts to other charitable organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Center for Food Action, Oasis, Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, Center for Hope & Safety, and Family Promise...to name a few.

We also meet for monthly social meetings at members' homes.

Our History

The Glen Rock Women In Community Service (WICS) originated in 1961 through the efforts of two women, Dorothy Graf and Rosemarie Ricciardi.  They saw an important need for young women in town, particularly mothers with growing families, to connect with others in our community who share a common bond to encourage friendship and to promote interest in civic, social, and educational endeavors.

Our primary focus has always been community and social service. Despite the climate of  ‘changing times’ - especially with women working full-time and raising families–the need for a connection with other community-minded women remains.

Throughout the year, WICS offers numerous opportunities to be involved in both daytime and evening activities, many of which are deep-rooted, traditional events.

It is in giving that we receive.”

WICS is comprised of members of many ages, working full-time, part-time, or at home with children, married or single – we bond through our generous spirit and the desire to give back to others in need.

We always welcome new members who feel as we do.
