Build Better Habits

Summer 2024
Chess Camp

Camp Overview

The Henrico Chess Academy chess camp series is designed for players who are brand new to chess or have experience with online play or school clubs. Campers will learn the fundamentals of chess in an immersive experience that includes over-the-board play, puzzles, our outside big board, and more!

While each camp is a complete experience for beginner to intermediate players, we have designed the camps to build on skills and grow our camper's experience.  Morning sessions are geared towards over-the-board play for campers with some knowledge of the game, while afternoons are centered on variations, movement, and fun!

Camps will be held at Hunton Park Clubhouse, 1 Siena Ln, Glen Allen, VA 23059.

Campers with no previous chess experience should register for the Fundamentals camp as a prerequisite for sessions 2-4. There are no prerequisites for the afternoon fun camps.

Session 1 is M-Th from 9am- noon for $150
Sessions 2-4 are M-F 9am-noon for $190/each
Afternoon fun sessions are M-F 1pm-4pm for $150/each
