Gleason Advocacy can help individuals with disabilities gain accesses to more resources in their community, make the most of their education, and navigate the difficult pathways the State has to offer. Below are just some of the services Gleason Advocacy can help with. If you have any additional questions or needs please contact Chelsey Gleason.
Gleason Advocacy can read your son or daughter's IEP and MET (Individualized Education Plan and Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team) and provide meaningful feedback. Understanding what is inside of your child's MET is key. That evaluation will drive their IEP. Gleason Advocacy can help to make sure that their IEP provides meaningful goals, appropriate services, and accommodations (including a Transition Plan if they are 14 years and over).
With nearly 10 years of experience as a special education teacher I can help families and schools work together to provide the best services for a student.
IEP and MET meetings can be an overwhelming processes; especially when you feel like it is "us" against "them". Gleason Advocacy can come to these meetings with you, offering support and insight to what is being proposed, advocate for the students needs, and make sure that best practices are being followed. This will ensure that the student is getting the most out of their educational experience.
Gleason Advocacy can help with the application processes, provide support during the in-take interview, and even help the client find a potential vendor to work with.
Gleason Advocacy can help individuals advocate for their needs by attending Individualized Family Service Plan (birth to 3 years of age) and Individual Support Plan (3 years of age and up) meetings, tour day programs, and support work employment opportunities.
