Play Dough and Coloring

Using play dough and other art materials we will expand your children's vocabulary. Painting and kneading are productive and fun methods to promote sensorimotor skills and create a healthy development of a child.

In a relaxed atmosphere we will make it fun for your children to learn new and build on their vocabulary with simple worksheets, painting and/or play dough projects. Together we will explore letters, words, numbers and shapes, while all senses are being addressed.

Relaxation

Through a variety of exercises we will create a healthy balance between movement and relaxation. On this imaginary journey your child will learn techniques such as yoga, progressive muscle and breathing relaxation.

Materials needed: The children will need comfortable clothing and a mat or a blanket.

World of Movement

This course offers different physical exercises which require a little bit of
space. Through these activities we will foster and support the joy of motion, coordinated movements, hand-eye coordination, and help build a positive body image as well as muscle strength.

Materials needed: The children will need comfortable clothing, 1 ball, 2 tennis balls, balloons, 2 fabric cloths (e.g. scarves), a big box (plastic bin works as well), a mat (blanket or a big towel also work), 2 cooking spoons, 2 pairs of socks, 16 DUPLO pieces or wooden block pieces.

STEM in the German Classroom

During this fun and educational journey of discovery, we will awaken the researcher in your child and experiment with elements of Water, Light, Air, and Nature.

Materials needed: Water based colors (e.g. food coloring). Aluminum foil, dried beans, bowls, water glass, cotton balls, milk, dish liquid. Vinegar, baking powder, baking soda, corn syrup, corn starch, flour, oil, balloons.
Some parental assistance might be needed!

We will participate in the Arolsen Archives’ #everynamecounts project https://enc.arolsen-archives.org/en/about-everynamecounts/ . This crowdsourcing initiative offers a new and very direct way of actively engaging with the past – not only to remember the victims of National Socialism persecution, but also to promote respect, diversity, and solidarity. Along the way we will reflect, in speech and in writing, on memorials, digital as well as ‘real’, and on the ways of and reasons for memorializing culturally significant events.
