Participation and working mode
You are completely free to join (or not) the GlassTear project in the way and frequency that you consider as most appropriate. You can decide to join GlassTear, with your own creative contribution, even on just one song. You can be part of GlassTear by offering your own creative contribution constantly, or be "inactive" for months. There is no constraint in terms of the frequency and intensity that you can dedicate to the project.
The GlassTear project is "asynchronous": it involves exchanging audio files for the shared creation of songs.
Max Grosso Sgarrillo acts as a "hub" around which all the members gravitate with their ideas. His role is to channel your ideas towards meaningful songs, making available tools, time and energy in that sense.
The basic concept is to let the starting idea (a riff, a melody, an arpeggio, etc.) grow progressively with the contribution of anyone who wants to follow the creative flow.
It is not necessarily Max who always has to arrange and finalize the songs. On the contrary, he could also simply act as a "hub" for everyone's ideas and then ask some of you to complete the songs based on your skills and availability of time.
To complete a song, just a few steps may be enough or, on the contrary, everyone's contributions may be necessary and therefore the closure may come after many months of work.
It is not a problem if you don't have time to dedicate to writing complete songs, both because you don't have time (in general) and because when you write, you do it mainly for your own band. However, if you create to a riff, an arpeggio, or a vocal line that is interesting and useful for the purposes of this project, record it and share it!
Label
There are no "label obligations" for the production of the songs to be part of the GlassTear project: there are no limits in terms of "composition" or "genre" or "style".
You can produce acoustic, electronic, rock, pop, metal, totally instrumental songs, with lyrics in Italian or English, from 3-minute punk songs to 20-minute prog rock suites. We don't give a shit about it!
The only "constraints" concern:
quality. We can'r produce "unlistenable" stuff, even if just starting from scratches. Under the GlassTear label, only songs that have a certain quality standard will be published.
a minimum base of equipment. It is required to have a minimum of equipment in order to work on the various shared fragments. I mean, it is necessary to have both the instruments (guitar, bass, keyboards, microphone, etc.), and a minimum of hardware (PC and sound card) and software (DAW) to record and to share ideas.
In the initial phase, it is not necessary to look at the "genre" to propose. Just start by proposing and sharing ideas. Then, gradually, the "selection" will be natural and we can work on the coherence between the various songs and think about the most suitable publication format (single, EP, Album).
Timing
There is no "time constraint" for completing the songs and for their publishing. A song, even if fragmented, can be left "fermenting" for months before closing it. It will be shared between us, and we try to enrich it with other ideas, without any constraint, even in terms of contents.
Distribution
The publishing will be through digital distributors only (CdBaby) on all digital platforms (Spotify, Apple music, Amazon Music, Youtube Music, Deezer, etc.) and I will personally take care of the Youtube, Soundcloud and Bandcamp channels.
I will also take care of the intellectual property protection (by Patamu), obviously dividing the percentage of the author's contribution based on the creative contribution actually dedicated to the song. In this sense, I believe that transparency must be total and unconditional.
Prices
GlassTear is totally free! No financial outlay is required! I will bear all the costs for property registration and for publishing on streaming platforms.
The GlassTear project has no profit purposes.
For those who are interested, I only ask for time and energy to dedicate to the project, in the forms and methods that you consider as the most appropriate.
