Research objectives
1) We use biologger data (GPS and accelerometer) to investigate the effect of anthropogenic noise, light and linear features on owl:
Nestbox occupancy
Breeding success
Movements and habitat selection
Hunting behaviour
2) We collect owl pellets at the nestboxes to investigate owl diet composition along the rural-urban gradient
3) We use acoustic data to investigate the effect of anthropogenic noise and light on owl:
Presence and distribution in and around Glasgow
Abundance in and around Glasgow
Vocal behaviour
Research methods
We currently use the following methods/equipment to address our objectives:
Biologgers with GPS, light sensor and accelerometer --> movement and behaviour data
AudioMoths --> acoustic data
Camera traps --> foraging data
