Geophysics Ph.D Candidate
Welcome to my website!
My name is Kostas Gkogkas and I'm currently a senior Ph.D. student at the University of Utah. My research experience is centered towards ambient noise tomography with an emphasis on basin structure, fault zone architecture and multi-parameter joint inversion of independent geophysical datasets.
I was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. After successful participation in the pan-hellenic exams, I became a first generation college student and received my B.Sc in Geology (Geophysics major) and M.Sc in Applied Geophysics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After my master's graduation I went abroad in Salt Lake City, UT, USA to join the Seismology graduate program at the University of Utah. During my doctorate studies I had the pleasure to broaden my research horizons and learn a lot of interesting stuff particularly in the field of structural Seismology.
