I was born and raised in Mexico and I had the most beautiful childhood where I was encouraged to explore my interests and the natural world served as my teacher. I grew up in a home with a huge backyard and garden which were my unlimited classroom. Learning opportunities were boundless. I observed insects and their cycle of life, counted chickens and saw the chicks hatch, developed my love for gardening, planting, etc.
I graduated as a nurse and worked in the field for about 5 years as a community coordinator for rural clinics. I developed an even greater passion for serving people which led me to continue my education in psychology for a year and a half.
Coming to the United States with small children, it wasn’t easy to go back to school and continue my education. Instead, I was recruited to work in a convalescent hospital as a Nursing assistant. However, after two years I felt a need for a change of direction. While attending Cañada College for ESL classes, I began working as a nanny. This is when I discovered my interest in child development and education. So, I continued my journey in Early Childhood Education, becoming trained as a Reggio Emilia facilitator, and I worked as a nanny for about 17 years. During this time, I also attended the University of Santa Clara for a Masters in Theology where I earned a CPD Life Coach Certification. I went on to work for two years as a teacher assistant at Beth Jacob Preschool and Synagogue in Redwood City.
My memories of my childhood turned into a dream to create a similar environment and experience for others. I dreamed of creating a home daycare designed from a child’s perspective that catered to each child's interest. I poured out my heart into planning and executed my vision to recreate a taste of my memories of playing and learning and exploring freely in my home backyard. It would be my honor and joy to care for your child and welcome them to grow in my garden.
