How do plants behave when oxygen is scarce?  Oxygen & Plant Interactions Lab (OxyPI Lab) at University of Pisa focuses on the metabolic and signaling mechanisms triggered by low oxygen levels. We are particularly interested in the sophisticated cross-talk between messenger molecules that orchestrate survival. Combining a background in plant molecular biology with advanced synthetic biology tools, our group investigates the hidden signals that orchestrate plant life under hypoxia.
