At STI ENID 2026 in Antwerp, Belgium, we had the opportunity to present two of our recent research projects. As a poster presentation, we presented“Characterizing Peace Through Scientific Keywords,” which explores how peace is framed across scientific disciplines and countries. Our findings show that while peace-related research is often centered on violence, its interpretation differs across fields and geopolitical contexts, revealing diverse perspectives on what constitutes a peaceful society.
Rabeeh Parhizkari also delivered an oral presentation on“Patterns of Research Funding Across Research Subjects: The Case of NSERC.” This study examines how research funding has evolved across subject areas over the past two decades, highlighting which fields are gaining support and which are experiencing declining funding trends. The results suggest growing support for applied and engineering-oriented fields, while several pure science disciplines have seen decreasing funding trends.
