A technology and framework that uses ICT, AI, sensors, and other technologies to enable people, machines, and the environment to work together in real time, ensuring safety while keeping machines operating with minimal interruption.

This concept was first presented to the world through IEC ACOS in 2017, where it led to active international discussions, including the publication of the IEC White Paper, Safety in the Future.
In February 2026, IEC Guide 127, an international standardization guide on Collaborative Safety, was published.
This guide for ensuring Safety, Health, and Well-being in the workplaces of the future was issued as an international standardization initiative.
