My name is Zhang Yan, and my main research focus is on social sensing and GeoAI. I completed my bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees at Wuhan University, under the guidance of Professor Li Yingbing and Professor Chen Nengcheng. My research journey includes working as a visiting scholar at the Urban Analytics Lab of the National University of Singapore, collaborating with Dr. Filip Biljecki, and at the Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS at Peking University, working with Dr. Zhang Fan and Professor Liu Yu. These experiences expanded my research interests in natural language processing, geo-tagged text, computer vision for street view images, and geospatial knowledge mining. Currently, I am conducting postdoctoral research at the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science, Chinese University of Hong Kong (Supervisor: Professor Kwan Mei-Po). I have published over 20 articles as first or corresponding author in renowned journals, including Journal of Hydrology, Building and Environment, Sustainable Cities and Society, International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation, Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Journal of Environmental Management, Urban Forestry & Urban Greening, IEEE Sensors Journal, and others. In terms of academic achievements, I have received honors such as the Wuhan University Inspirational Star, Academic Innovation Award, and National Scholarship for Doctoral Students. My research emphasizes urban perception and observation from the perspective of spatiotemporal big data, and I actively engage in science popularization through WeChat public platforms.
