My name is Jin Bai. I am originally from Northeast China. I am a third-year Ph.D. student in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology at North Carolina State University, where I study how anthropause affects urban bird diversity in the triangle area of North Carolina, how does avian species richness associate with neighborhood wealth, and how historical residential segregation in the city of Durham affects urban bird communities. I am applying the GIS skills learned from this class to analyze bird distribution data and its relationship to census data and conduct bird habitat suitability analysis. My career goal is to become a professor/avian ecologist in a university, research institution, or non-profit organization.
