Girls Who Code Savannah co-Founder Sage Batchelor Receives the 2022 STEM Community Change Agent Award.

GWC Savannah's Sage Batchelor humbled and honored ty the award announcement:

A woman of considerable achievement, who shows relentless support for the Savannah Chatham County STEM community. As a recipient of this award it acknowledges how much your efforts to support STEM education have impacted our youth and others within the Savannah community. Through your service you have educated, enlightened, and empowered many young women to succeed in the areas of STEM, empowering them to know that they too can make a difference.

"Connections Through Code" Workshop at Telfair Museum's PULSE Art + Technology Festival

March 5th marked another successful event at the 2022 Pulse festival. Girls Who Code instructor Sage Batchelor taught a Saturday morning workshop to middle schoolers . According to Sage, "he purpose of the workshop is to get attendees to experience the interactive installations in the museum, and then build interactive artworks on their own. Having the connection to how code is used in a real world implementation is a way of showing young people how essential code is in so many of our experiences. Getting them to build their own project based on the hands on experience is very motivational."
