Theme

This year's theme for Girl's Camp is "Mission Possible!" Your mission, if you so choose to accept it, is to be a S.P.Y. This stands for "Spiritually Prepared Youth," which your Mission Leaders (YW Leaders) hope to help you become by the end of camp. The purpose of camp this week is to help you build your foundation of faith and prepare for whatever mission life throws at you.

Your Lead Agents (YCLs) chose Philippians 4:13 to be our spotlight scripture this week because they wanted you to feel God's love for you and help you to understand that through Him you can do hard things. We know that Jesus Christ is our source of strength to get through all things. He makes it possible to get through life’s challenges.

Our prophet President Nelson said recently: “How you deal with life’s trials is part of the development of your faith. Strength comes when you remember that you have a divine nature, an inheritance of infinite worth. The Lord has reminded you...that you are lawful heirs, that you have been reserved in heaven for your specific time and place to be born, to grow and become His standard bearers and covenant people…. Do whatever it takes to strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ by increasing your understanding of the doctrine taught in His restored Church and by relentlessly seeking truth. Anchored in pure doctrine, you will be able to step forward with faith and dogged persistence and cheerfully do all that lies in your power to fulfill the purposes of the Lord.” (April 2020 Ensign, The Future of the Church: Preparing the World for the Savior’s Second Coming)

He also warned us that “In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.” (April 2018 General Conference)

We know this is true! And we hope that this week will be a time to strengthen your faith, find ways to #HearHim, and have some fun with us!

150 YEARS!

"2020 is not only memorable because life went virtual, but it’s also the 150th anniversary of the Young Women program! Sister Cordon and the General YW presidency has asked that every YW around the world think of something to do to celebrate this exciting milestone! We thought that during this week of camp, we could:

log 150 miles of hiking,

do 150 acts of ministering,

and we’ already have 150 people registered for girls camp!!! Cool, huh???

Does 150 miles of hiking sound impossible? Not if we each do at least 1 mile on Wednesday! Does ministering to someone sound difficult? Not if you think of ministering as doing something small to show great love for someone - like hugging your brother the next time he uses your hairbrush instead of yelling at him; or doing the dishes right after dinner without being asked; or writing a letter to your grandma or another camper - just to say you’re thinking of them! Let’s do this! Please keep track of your miles and acts of ministering and report back at the end of the week! We love you YW!!!!!!!” <3 Your Young Women leaders
