Girls in Engineering was formed by members of Leigh High School's Girls Who Code Club who wanted to be more active in the battle to close the computer science gender gap! We are enthusiastic about technology and our cause, and want to see more girls thriving in the computer science field!
Emily Huynh is a tech enthusiast who enjoys learning new concepts and helping others understand those concepts! She has been coding in Python for about four years and has both taken classes and self-studied various computer science and machine learning algorithms. As a Girls Who Code officer and tutor, Emily has experience teaching groups of students and helping students one-on-one. Emily is passionate about machine learning and computer science and aims to express and light a similar passion in students!
Liyen Ho has always loved solving problems and working with others to gain a deeper appreciation of what is at hand. She has coded in Python for 3 years, taking both formal and informal classes to further pursue her interest! With her experiences of tutoring elementary school students as well as other high school students, Liyen has the skill to help students one-on-one to further their personal growth!
Rachel Baek has three years of experience tutoring both groups and individuals. She makes it a priority to accommodate to each student's level of understanding and learning pace in order to ensure a positive experience.
Sharanya Ramanujan enjoys working with children and her peers to spread her love for technology and computer science. She is passionate about solving problems in various coding languages and is always ready to share her love for the subject with others. She has experience tutoring middle schoolers and her peers and looks forward to spreading the joy of computer science to young minds!
