Calculation: (Spell Casting Level + (Intelligence + Reaction) / 2) / 2

Affects

The Spell Casting skill determines whether Sveta successfully casts a spell or not. The calculation is as follows:

Spell Casting - Difficulty of Spell - (Arousal/5) + (a random number from 1-100)

• If the total is greater than 50, the spell is a critical success (mana cost is halved and possible bonus effects depending on spell).

• If the total is between 11 and 50, the spells is a success.

• If the total is between -19 and 10, the spell is a failure (meaning no effect).

• If the total is -20 or lower, the spell is a critical failure (no effect and mana cost is doubled).

Increased by

• The base XP from casting a spell is a random number from 1 to the difficulty of the spell. If the spell is a failure or critical failure, the XP is halved. If the spell is a critical success, 0-5 bonus XP are gained.

• Studying at National Library (0-3xp per hour; depends on Spell Casting level)
