Coats are a special class of clothing. They provide a small bonus to the PC's total Attractiveness when worn, but only if the PC is outdoors (ie. somewhere that is not coded as being indoors) and the temperature is below zero.
All of the coats provide the same Attractiveness bonus, except for #5 which inflicts a penalty. The Quality of a coat (which isn't visible) affects its starting Condition and its price.
Warmth
The most important characteristic of coats is probably how warm they are.
If the PC is wearing one of the best coats (6, 7, 9, 11, and 15) they will only be affected by the cold if it gets below -30, and even then they can stay outside for an hour before they start getting sick.
If the PC is wearing one of the good coats (4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, and 19) they will be affected by the cold if it gets below -20, and will be affected more if they are hungry, thirsty, or sweaty.
If the PC is wearing one of the average coats (1, 2, 3) they will start being affected by the cold when it gets below -10, and will be affected more if they are hungry, thirsty, or sweaty, or if it gets below -30.
If the PC isn't wearing any coat they will be affected by the cold when it gets below zero, and will be affected more if they are hungry, thirsty, or sweaty, or if it gets below -20, and a lot more if it gets below -30.
Notes
The Goth starts with Coat 14. Everyone else starts with Coat 5.
This is probably outdated due to recent changes -Alaratt
Of the best (ie warmest) coats, 11 and 15 have the highest Quality.
Coats 9 are 11 designer coats, which are only available at Mon Cheri and therefore cost a lot more than other coats.
