I was talking with my daughter about another ride I had recently done (Sterile Iowan) and how it also raised funds for Hardin County Trails. She said..."You should use the Twister theme of your ride and do something for tornado relief". And then I said "Hey, that's a pretty good idea". So...
The closest/largest impact I can think of is the tornado that came through Marshalltown last summer, so we'll try to support an organization there - The House of Compassion - that is a soup kitchen and supply closet. They serve those in need (which over the past several months has included people whose homes were severely damaged or destroyed by the tornado). For GIRG Ride 2019, I'm asking for an "entry fee" donation this year of a couple items from the list below that will be delivered to the House of Compassion. There will be a tub to put them into by the GIRG Ride mobile headquarters (dark blue Dodge Durango).
