Generalities and quick bio:
My name is Giovanni Brigati (full name: Giovanni Maria Brigati, pronouns: he/him).
I was born in Pavia, Italy, on December 11th, 1995. My mother tongue is Italian. I am fluent in English, French, Spanish, and I have a working knowledge of German. I hold Italian (and EU) citizienship. I am currently based in Vienna, Austria.
I lived in Pavia continuously between the years 1995 and 2019. I got my BSc and my MSc in mathematics from the University of Pavia in 2017 and 2019, respectively. At the same time, I attended the IUSS institute for advanced study.
From 2019 to 2023, I lived in Paris, France. There, I used to be a PhD student and a teaching assistant at the University Paris-Dauphine PSL. I was awarded my PhD on May 25th, 2023. My thesis, with title Kinetic equations, functional inequalities, and distances in the space of probability measures, supervised by Jean Dolbeault and Giuseppe Savaré , was prepared in the context of an international co-tutelle, see my CV.
Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Jan Maas at the IST Austria .
