I am an economist specializing in labour economics, industrial relations, and the political economy of work, with a particular focus on how financialization reshapes labour markets and worker power.
My new book Debt and the Future of Workers (Bristol University Press, 2026) explores how financialization - and particularly personal debt - has been reshaping the world of work and social inequalities, and what it will take to defend democracy in our workplaces and beyond.
My research has appeared in leading academic journals, including the British Journal of Industrial Relations, the Socio-Economic Review, the Cambridge Journal of Economics, the Industrial Relations Journal, Economic and Industrial Democracy, and the Review of Political Economy, among others.
This work has been recognized with awards such as the Kurt W. Rothschild Prize of the Karl Renner Institute in 2023 and the J. Russo & S. Linkon Award of the Working-Class Studies Association in 2024.
Currently, I am Associate Professor at the School of Business & Management at Queen Mary, University of London, and Co-Editor in Chief of the journal Work in the Global Economy. Previously, I held academic positions at the University of Bristol, University College London (UCL), and King’s College London.
I have studied economics and political economy at the University of Athens (BSc Hons & MPhil) and King's College London (PhD).
