Giovanni Delgado Ferreira is a dynamic theatre maker and educator pursuing an MFA in Theatre for Youth and Community at Arizona State University. He serves as a conservatory teacher at Childsplay Theatre and a resident artist with the Design and Arts Corps, where he leads community-based programming focused on storytelling and arts integration.
Giovanni’s practice centers youth voice, social-emotional learning, and culturally grounded performance. His recent work includes LevelUp! Digital Storytelling, a program combining theater, video games, and SEL for Title I students at Mesa Arts Academy. He will present findings from this program at the 2025 IDIERI (International Drama Education Research Institute) conference in Vancouver and is preparing a publication based on the research.
Past teaching artist roles include Diversionary Theatre and Imagine! Brave Spaces, where he facilitated devised work with Queer youth and led forum theatre programs addressing racism and sex trafficking. He has also contributed to NEA-funded community arts projects and served as dramaturg, playwright, and director across institutions including ASU, Teatro Bravo, and San Diego State University.
Giovanni is a 2024–2025 ASU Gammage Scholar and was selected to represent the U.S. as a Next Generation delegate at the ASSITEJ World Congress in Havana, Cuba. His creative and educational work continues to explore the intersections of Queer identity, Latine culture, imagination, and healing.
