Since August 2025 I am a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, USA. My work is partially funded by an NSF Standard Grant (NSF-2505713, 2025--2028)
From September 2022 to July 2025 I have been an Assistant Professor/Courant Instructor and Morawetz Fellow at the Courant Institute (New York University)
From November 2018 until July 2022 I was a PhD student at Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS, Pisa) under the supervision of prof. Luigi Ambrosio and prof. Enrico Le Donne
-- NEWS AND OTHER LINKS
In January 2026 I am co-organizing the conference "Connections among Spin Geometry, Minimal Surfaces and Relativity" in Chennai, India with Shubham Dwivedi, Lan-Hsuan Huang, Sven Hirsch, and Alec Payne
In June 2025 I gave a mini course in the summer school "Optimal transport, heat flow, and synthetic Ricci bounds" at Northwestern University. I will soon upload lecture notes on this website and on arXiv!
In February 2025 I obtained the Italian Habilitation as Associate Professor in Sector 01/A3 “Mathematical Analysis, Probability, and Statistics”. In March 2025 I obtained the Italian Habilitation as Associate Professor in Sector 01/A2 “Algebra and Geometry”.
From September 2023 to May 2025 I was a co-organizer of Courant Geometric Analysis & Topology Seminar
Research Interests
I enjoy thinking about problems with a geometric flavour. In particular, I am interested in the field of Geometric Analysis in a broad sense.
In my work I have been using techniques from SubRiemannian geometry, Geometric Measure Theory, and Geometric Group Theory.
Some of the topics I have worked (or am working) on:
Isoperimetric problem on and structure of spaces with (various types of) curvature lower bonds
Rectifiability in non-Euclidean settings, especially Carnot groups
Classification of nilpotent groups up to quasi-isometries
